I think I'm about to make a lot of people very happy... assuming it doesn't cause widespread breakage: https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch/pull/13173

Got some bugs squashed this weekend. - Fixed a bug where pads weren't getting released properly on disconnect - rewrote the dualshock 3 driver so it works with Mac OSX now. I don't think this will affect the PS button issue though. - fixed the bug where wiimotes stop working if you attach/detach...

Thanks for this info. I *think* I've got the first issue fixed with an improved pad deregister algorithm. I've identified the issue with wii remote not connecting and working in games. I don't have the means to do a gamepad-less setup, however I've done a test where the wiimote went to sleep...

I'm surprised about the PS3 controller, but I know the PS4 is not a HID controller, or at least not all of them are. I don't know about the XBox One controller (but I have one I can test with!). Can you install Maschell's HID-TEST app and collect what VID/PID show up (if any) for each of these...

OK but neither of those have anything to do with HID controllers. - the former is intentionally disabled pending a more general input rewrite - the latter is a problem, but has nothing to do with HID support

Can I get some details on what exactly "fix the hid support" means? Like, I've got my GCA connected (a HID device) and it works fine.

The newest nightlies have a couple neat features: The zip now contains all of the assets, so installation is as easy as unzipping it to the root directory of your SD card. I made a change that produced a significant speedup in core startup time (I can't really say I "added" it because the fix...

There's already a PR open, not mine unfortunately and not my decision to merge. I did, however, update my review of that PR to indicate successful testing.

I'm not hosting anymore. I was able to test with Radius' help. Result: Direct connect = success relay connect = fail Feel free to use the nestopia build for direct-connects, but don't ask me for help setting up port forwarding--that's between you and your router vendor. :D

Hey guys, Sorry for the delay on netplay testing--real life + Dragon Quest XI have made my coding hours.. limited. :) I have a build ready for testing: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YAw1_hOAC1VxCo9JGm8EUzlX-yC-lq2Z/view?usp=sharing Need a volunteer to load up Mario Bros (crc32: a6de1b55)...

I'm hesitant to get rid of it, because it's still useful--for example, today I accidentally switched pad 0 to "disabled" and the only way to cleanly shut down was to use the panic button (and then fix the cfg over FTP...). But we can change it to something more difficult to hit accidentally...

Question: would anyone be sad if the screen dimming function was completely disabled all the time? In the next nightly build, I've put in a bit of conditional code that turns off the screen dimming while a core is running, and re-enables it while the menu is running. However, it'd be easier...

I'll take a look and see if I can find anything useful. Thanks! Ah, gotcha. I use a drive bay that has its own wall wart to get around that problem. You could probably do something similar by using e.g. an iphone charger and connect your Y adapter to that instead of the Wii U.

So, the hub thing. (random question: is your hub a powered hub or a passive hub?) The good news on that front is that I can reproduce the problem very easily. The bad news is that I couldn't find a workaround. Nerd details below! The HID implementation uses a worker thread to run...

Did some testing with fresh local builds: NEStopia: no problems. Loaded Ninja Gaiden and Mario 3 no problem. MAME 2003: Loaded a Star Wars arcade game. It loaded, displaying upside down. I'm not sure the rom set is 100% compatible, or maybe the game isn't well-supported on Mame 2003, but no...

Saying "I got a DSI error" is pretty useless information. Post the error you're getting.

The WaveBird issue is going to be a "use as-is" for the purpose of this testing. However, I still want to fix it. I'll need to collect some logs. On Wii U, that requires a PC on the same network. If you have that available, PM me the IP address of your PC (it has to be compiled in) and I'll...

That's fine. The nature of the bugs wasn't model specific. Mainly I want to ensure that the fix that I already know fixes wiimote -> wiimote+nunchuk transition, also fixes wiimote -> CC transition.

Alrighty then. Anyways, the sooner I get confirmation that the wiimote/classic controller bug is fixed, the sooner we can merge, and the sooner it's in the nightlies for everyone.
