    Hacking Nintendont

More than likely this is dithering, which Dolphin can sort of fix by somehow improving the color depth, however, that's not a feature original HW supports. You can try forcing a video mode with deflicker filter enabled, it'll smooth the picture out somewhat, but also might hide dithering.

    Hacking QUICK/NEWBIE QUESTIONS here!

Have there been any changes in the sensor module between Wii Remotes and Wii Remote Pluses? I've bought a used WMP from eBay a few weeks back (definitely not a replica, the build quality appears to be better than my 2008 WMs; probably pre-Wii U production era on this one as the sync button is...

Things you recently bought or got

Just got shipment notifications for PS2 and Wii HD Retrovision Component cables and RetroTink 5x! Really gave up on getting decent performance out of PCSX2/Dolphin - it's fine most of the time, but the random stutters do get annoying. RPCS3 and CEMU work basically flawless, so there's something...

    Hacking QUICK/NEWBIE QUESTIONS here!

Is there any difference in 480P output between a PAL and an NTSC wii? Whenever loading from disks (respecting system menu settings) or when using a USB loader to force a video mode?

Hacking Possible to Disable the Wii's (De)Flicker Filter?

Yep, that's got to be it! Sorry for inflating the already huge thread, I've read through it multiple times in the past, but it can be hard to hold 30+ pages of info in memory :). Interesting how the dither pattern is just made up of easily visible horizontal lines - almost like it was...

    Hacking Nintendont

Can't seem to get it to work in either Nintendont or HID test, alas. Which is a shame, DS4 worked great, especially with the official Sony wireless adapter, which is all but useless to me now since it doesn't support DualSense.

Hacking Possible to Disable the Wii's (De)Flicker Filter?

Coming across this thread again, and I have a bit of a related topic to discuss. I've recently moved my TV closer to the floor and closer to the couch, which allows for better visibility, and the first thing I've noticed is that Wii seems to always have this sort of a "scanline" effect - faint...

    The situation in Ukraine...

lmao Dark Ronin please go back to whatever troll farm that hired you, it's past midnight in saint petersburg, get some quality sleep or play some video games / install CFW / i don't really care отрабатываешь методичку на пять с плюсом, что ещё тут скажешь

Hacking Possible to Disable the Wii's (De)Flicker Filter?

This issue is something I'm quite interested in trying to get around myself since I'm seeing similar things on some GC games (whether in Dolphin or on real HW). What's the aspect ratio you get from Dolphin when trying to play such games? I've seen one game render at exactly 640x480, despite...

Hacking Possible to Disable the Wii's (De)Flicker Filter?

I believe there's a noticeable difference with this priiloader hack on 4.2E (not region changed, PAL Wii from UK), so it works on at least two 4.2 regions. Not sure about 4.3 or 4.1, though, and I'd rather not update to 4.3 myself (no real reason to do so from what I've gathered).

Hacking Possible to Disable the Wii's (De)Flicker Filter?

Thanks for the inspiration, NoobletCheese, I think I'll try setting up Dolphin over the weekend to see whether I like the results I get with an RX580 and an i5-11600k. Coming back to the topic at hand (maybe this is something I've missed, in that case I'd appreciate a link), disabling...

Hacking Possible to Disable the Wii's (De)Flicker Filter?

Seems pretty neat as an AIO-solution, though if your PC already has BT support it might be easier to get one of those wireless battery powered sensor bars for ~$8. As for stutters/shaders, what game are you using for testing purposes? I'm curious to recreate your tests on my HW. Hybrid...

    Modern TV(s): 480p vs 480i handling

Yep, I've been looking into OSSC / RetroTink x5 for a while now, I especially like RetroTink from what I've seen. Definitely beats difficult HDMI mods and third-party HDMI cables with their mediocre built-in converters. Still, I'm curious if it's just my TV that squeezes the signal like that...

    Modern TV(s): 480p vs 480i handling

Yep, I know, I have this effect in games with an official 480p mode (e.g. Driver: Parallel Lines)

    Modern TV(s): 480p vs 480i handling

Hey y'all I've been playing some PS2 and some Wii these past few days on a TV I got last summer and I've noticed that it seems to interpret 480p and 480I signals somewhat differently. Progressive signals are somewhat squeezed narrower with black bars on the sides, resulting in a...

    Wii WODE Jukebox files

Hey JakobAir, Wii ODE solutions were on my mind earlier today (how it'd ), so it was kind of neat stumbling upon your thread randomly like that. Thanks for the upload (I don't have a WODE, but I'm interested in it from a historical point of view at least)! A bit more of a general question to...

    Game Loading: SD vs HDD?

Hi y'all! For the last decade or so, USB HDDs were a de facto standard for loading games on the Wii due to their much greater storage capacity. However, large-capacity SDXC cards these days are much cheaper than they used to be, and they're supported on 4.1+ (or was that 4.0+), if I recall...

    Hacking Nintendont

Yeah, likely just that, which is why I'm thinking about a way to force the game into the right width with some .dol patching - will probably work on figuring this out over the holidays. Mine's an Android-based Hisense, and it's usually OK, but when it comes to scaling options... well, there's...

[Release] Fakemote: An IOS module that fakes Wiimotes from the input of USB game controllers

According to the driver code, {SONY_VID, 0x0268}, where SONY_VID is 0x054c. Thus, 054c:0268 is VID:PID for DS3. BTW, what's the driver code for DS4 based on? I'd like to try my hand at adding DualSense support (assuming DS and DS4 are similar). I was looking at the DS4Windows implementation of...

    Hacking Nintendont

Widescreen is On in the Wii settings. I recall trying to set it to off without much luck in the way of fixing this issue, but I will try again after I get home and I'll update this post with the results, thanks for the suggestion. Update: the Widescreen setting in the Wii System Menu doesn't...
