Hacking CONFIRMED: No roadblocks for 7.0.1 Support on SXOS

It's pretty difficult to not know what either SX OS or Atmosphere is, regardless of which one you use. And for the foreseeable future, there's going to be constant back & forth arguing over which one is better, because apparently the concept that different people have different wants & needs out...

Hacking Question Is Switch Hacking Anything Like 3ds Hacking?

Atmosphère (and possibly other CFWs) implement some measures to try & prevent your system from being banned while running CFW (such as creport, which redirects error logs to your microSD card, rather than sending them to Nintendo's servers. Another measure is blocking some communication with...

Hacking Question Is Switch Hacking Anything Like 3ds Hacking?

As it currently stands, in the event that your Switch is not ipatched and is able to have payloads successfully pushed to it via RCM, and given that you are on the latest firmware (7.0.1) (Can't believe I said 7.1.0 in my previous post; yikes!), the current methods of loading CFW, or really any...

Hacking Question Is Switch Hacking Anything Like 3ds Hacking?

Firmware version matters not if your Switch is not ipatched, which can be determined by either checking your serial number against a range of serial numbers that are known to belong to unpatched units, or by attempting to push a payload via RCM, which is what you would need to do in order to...

Hacking Clean NAND after booting CFW?

Yes, I believe so. My mistake! dreport would clear the error logs; creport prevents Nintendo from receiving them as far as I know.

Hacking Clean NAND after booting CFW?

Portions of the Switch NAND are specific to your Switch, so you can't just flash somebody else's NAND onto your Switch. Logs can be cleared using dreport, but that is now deprecated and discouraged since firmware 5.1.x I believe. Were any error logs generated while in CFW? If not you should be...

    Hacking Sticky serial thread confusion

That I am not sure of, but I am noticing that it is outlining specific firmware versions, and the OP even states that they can be disregarded unless you are looking to acquire a Switch in that serial number range that is on specific firmware.

    Hacking Sticky serial thread confusion

The top of the thread would override the spoilers if you are strictly looking to determine whether or not you can put the Switch into RCM and push payloads to it.

    Hacking Sticky serial thread confusion

If anything, consider the orange maybe in the spoiler as a precaution that the OP took in the event that a Switch with a serial number in that range ends up being patched so that he isn't blamed for spreading completely false information, while as it stands, it is assumed to be safe.

    Hacking Sticky serial thread confusion

It should still be safe, as units with serial numbers in that range have not been reported as being patched.

    Hacking Sticky serial thread confusion

It is in orange as it has been reported by a user as unpatched, but should not necessarily be used to determine whether or not your Switch is unpatched. If it is in red, it's patched.

Hacking Discussion Will SXOS dominate Switch CFW scene?

So here's my personal opinion, which may or may not be based on incorrect information; feel free to correct me about anything that I may be incorrect about here! I started off on SX OS when Switch CFW was just starting to take off; I imagine this is also the case for a lot of other people. It...

So something along the lines of running SX OS?

Hacking Question What causes a NAND to become "dirty"?

Hi, I tried searching through GBAtemp & Google *very* briefly to try & find a clear answer to this before I littered the forum with more questions, but could not seem to find anything. What is it that would cause a Switch NAND to become "dirty"? I haven't done a whole lot with my Switch yet, so...
