Hacking [GBA] flash cart and device questions [Possibly wrong section]

Backlit is amazingly better than frontlit. Also upgrading is not easy, just saying.

Gaming I would like to buy a K1gbaSP

Didn't know these existed too. Very intriguing. The case looks very similar to GCW-ZERO. Hopefully it got a better display and buttons though. Added Revo K101 to wishlist anyways :)

Hacking [GBA] flash cart and device questions [Possibly wrong section]

My current personal preference is GBA SP backlit + EZ Flash IV I own a GBA too and in my opinion GBA SP is more enjoyable. My GBA SP had frontlit originally and I had to order backlit screen separately and patch the motherboard to install it. I never looked back. Backlit is just so much better...

    Emulation GBA emulator for GBA?

Got it. Will definitely take that in count. So in bare bones I need to implement the following: - writing to SRAM when level is completed - copying from SRAM to RAM on password screen and passing a reference to the new RAM location Will have to go over some good tutorials before I begin. Will...

    Emulation GBA emulator for GBA?

That's a whole load of useful information and resources. Thank you! And yes, patching each rom individually is what TecXero was talking about earlier and as I said before I'm looking into getting my hands dirty with that as a starting point. So if I understand correctly, if patching a specific...

    Emulation GBA emulator for GBA?

Interesting. Thanks! I currently have EZ Flash IV and it doesn't provide this functionality. Will search for Supercard GBA flashcart and see if it does it.

    Emulation GBA emulator for GBA?

You got the point of my question just right. Thank you! I indeed think it would be very cool to be able to save progress state on .gba games while running them on real GBA that don't support it natively. The thing is you have plenty of storage on miniSD/microSD to save state on when running...

    Emulation GBA emulator for GBA?

Goomba is very useful for GBA and GBA SP too, although it emulates the hardware it's being executed in. It allows saving current state in say, Super Mario World, at any point, which is what I'm missing for original GBA games. auto Well, let me correct my last wording: not "emulates the...

    Emulation GBA emulator for GBA?

For all you folks, just keep in mind that Goomba is also emulating what GBA is natively capable of - running GB programs. And if that would be pointless, it wouldn't be that popular.

    Emulation GBA emulator for GBA?

Anyways patching roms seems more logical to me too now, I will look into that. Haven't dealt with GBA development before, are there any good resources you can recommend?

    Emulation GBA emulator for GBA?

True. Or take a dingux powered device with awesome reGBA emulator which will do just that perfectly. However nothing compares to playing a GBA game on GBA.

    Emulation GBA emulator for GBA?

Most GBA games I stumbled upon use password system which is embarrassing.

    Emulation GBA emulator for GBA?

Many GBA games don't write to disk, they just provide us with a password we should write down to insert it later when we want to continue the game from that point. I'm looking for a wrapper that would be able to snapshot the progress at any point and write it to disk.

    Emulation GBA emulator for GBA?

Hi guys, Is there an emulator for GBA (like Goomba for .gb files) that can take a .gba file and wrap it with features like save/load a state? Thanks
