Gary Bowser from Team Xecuter pleads guilty to charges, agrees to pay Nintendo $4.5 million

For starters said section specifically says you can't make copies if it's against the license agreement. Also computer programs doesn't mean your game cartridges, it means software on your computer. Maybe digital games, but you already agreed not to copy digital games by accepting the console...

Gary Bowser from Team Xecuter pleads guilty to charges, agrees to pay Nintendo $4.5 million

"It is also important to check the terms of sale or license agreement of the original copy of software in case any special conditions have been put in place by the copyright owner that might affect your ability or right under section 117 to make a backup copy. There is no other provision in the...

Gary Bowser from Team Xecuter pleads guilty to charges, agrees to pay Nintendo $4.5 million

It absolutely is if it requires DRM circumvention. Removing/bypassing copy protection is a DMCA violation.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has been announced for the Oculus Quest 2

Not much of a downgrade considering it was also released on the 360 and PS3. Just give us lower res graphics with the features of the proper versions and it should work fine.

Nintendo of America closes its Redwood City and Toronto offices, about 100 employees reportedly laid off

Code optimization and lower resolution graphics really aren't "dumbing down" a game.

Gary Bowser from Team Xecuter pleads guilty to charges, agrees to pay Nintendo $4.5 million

Yes and no. Developers are, but a ton of users hate when you have to pay or donate for a ready to use build, pay for support, or a premium build. You see this a lot on Reddit when other software or hardware using open source software as a base is being used for commercial purposes especially...

Gary Bowser from Team Xecuter pleads guilty to charges, agrees to pay Nintendo $4.5 million

Because software pirates are a lot like the free software crowd. They want everything to be gratis instead of libre not realizing that it's money that largely makes development of this stuff possible. So when someone charges for something that should be "free" they throw a tantrum. Not the best...

Nintendo of America closes its Redwood City and Toronto offices, about 100 employees reportedly laid off

The consoles are fine as long as we're not getting half assed ports made with UE4. Plenty of stuff that "shouldn't run" on Switch works because it's completely capable of running on it.

Oculus releases unlocked OS for discontinued Oculus Go headset

Now we just need VR Pokémon fan games and similar games, and VR TCGs. Really anything light enough it'll run on the Go (which is better than just streaming to it IMO).

Dbrand no longer selling PS5 faceplates after Sony threatens legal action

Sony is counting on them not doing it because it costs a lot more for Dbrand than Sony subjectively at least. Sony will have attorneys on retainer.

Dbrand no longer selling PS5 faceplates after Sony threatens legal action

The only good move is to send out one final EOL update for the PS3 and PS4 when their servers shut down disabling the DRM on the consoles since they won't be making any money from them. Also to just F off with frivolous lawsuits and threats thereof. Half the reason I don't have a PS5 is because...

Dbrand no longer selling PS5 faceplates after Sony threatens legal action

They don't need permission and Sony has no case unless they get the most retarded jury on the planet. They arguably had a case with going after PlateStation5.com or w/e because it's super close to their own trademark, but going after Dbrand is asinine.

Dbrand no longer selling PS5 faceplates after Sony threatens legal action

Basically. Companies like Sony count on people caving to threats of legal action regardless of whether Sony has a case. This is a company that only kept their online store up because it got out that when the servers go down and the CMOS battery dies you can't play any games, and it affects both...

Dbrand no longer selling PS5 faceplates after Sony threatens legal action

Every console manufacturer is super greedy now. Microsoft is the lesser of the evils, though Windows has its share of problems

Video shows OLED Nintendo Switch using HWFLY SX clone modchip, can boot Hekate

Beause they all use essentially the same hardware. The additional engineering costs (contracts and sourcing different components, testing, and maintenence, etc.) aren't worth it to stop a couple thousand people from pirating games.

GOG removes 'Hitman - Game of the Year Edition' from its storefront following backlash over online requirements

Terrible analogy. CD Projekt isn't responsible for the game they didn't make needing an internet connection for a ton of features. If someone walk into a dollar store and they're mad stuff is more than dollar they're an idiot. Dollar store is a term used because most stuff costs $1. It's not a...

GOG removes 'Hitman - Game of the Year Edition' from its storefront following backlash over online requirements

Petty complaints tbh. No, the game shouldn't require an internet connection for a ton of features if it's a paid title, but that doesn't have anything to do with CD Projekt or GOG, that's on IO Interactive. If you thought that a game known for locking a ton of its content behind an internet...

Hacking Oculess is a new program that lets you use your Quest 2 without a Facebook or Oculus account

Really liking that some of the stuff recommended is open source. That means both Linux ports are possible and that making it work through WINE should be easier. Once games using EAC (Win) and BattlEye implement Linux support I'll be switching over to Linux with either a small Windows partition...

The Kingdom Hearts games are headed to the Nintendo Switch through cloud streaming

Oh boy cloud versions of PS2 and PSP remakes. With the proper work KHIII could probably work too. It'll be ugly (or remade models and textures) with toned down effects but the Switch could probably handle it. But it's Squeenix who thought that porting the incredibly stripped down mobile version...
