Hardware Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, how to know if its a knock off

Even first party controllers don't wake the Switch from complete power off. It's my biggest annoyance. Right after them burying the power off option under long pressing the power button and not including it in the system menus. I wouldn't care so much if games didn't have memory leaks that...

Hardware Did anyone manage to repair a Switch that´s stuck on the second bootlogo yet?

I wound up getting $25 CAD off the repair by calling them and sort of complaining about the situation, since my Switch failed just out of warranty with no real explanation why, so in the end it was just under $100 CAD including shipping and taxes.

Hardware Did anyone manage to repair a Switch that´s stuck on the second bootlogo yet?

I wound up sending mine with this issue to Nintendo for repair, and even they didn't bother repairing it, they just sent me a refurb. That said, my original Switch was vulnerable, so that might have more to do with it than it bring a problematic repair.

Hardware Switch repairs in Central-North Ontario, Canada

tl;dr: Title says it all. I tried an electronics repair place I found in North Bay, but it's more for warranty repairs of stuff and the guy is super backlogged, and by the time he got to my Switch, either he didn't read the note I gave explaining the issue, or didn't diagnose it properly, but...

    Hardware Switch boots sometimes

See, thing is with the 360 and the PS4, both of those consoles are very easily end-user serviceable. The Switch is almost entirely not end-user serviceable because it's all just one singular board for everything, and requires fairly advanced tools the the average user wouldn't have, much less...

    Hardware Switch boots sometimes

Sounds like the problem my Switch started having, and I updated it back when this all started happening, and it didn't resolve it, nor did trying to update it today, it actually bootlooped again after it rebooted to apply the update. If I let it sit for some number of days, it will boot again...

Hardware Non-booting switch, not sure if hardware or software after extensive tests.

Sorry for not following up here sooner. I did end up taking it to a local shop, but I don't think the guy took the time to really inspect the wifi chip as he's pretty busy being the only place for kilometers around that does this kind of work on electronics, and by the time he got to inspecting...

Hardware Non-booting switch, not sure if hardware or software after extensive tests.

OP, did you have any success in solving your issue? I have run into the exact same problem with my Switch in the exact same conditions and circumstances. I haven't gone as far as to try cfw or Linux or anything like that yet, though I know my model is exploitable and I could. But, I think I...

Hacking Removing Update from Emunand: Is it possible?

Yes, that's partly why restoring a backup isn't an ideal solution, as everything related to the nand install will be reverted to that backup, including installed cia's and save files. The save files can be gotten around by backing the saves up separately and then restoring them, but it's still a...

Hacking Removing Update from Emunand: Is it possible?

I'd posted previously on this topic detailing my success at the time with turning on my wifi, letting the system attempt to download a newer update, and then disabling the wifi the moment I saw my n3ds connect to the nintendo servers using my router's logs, and this worked for about a month or...

Hacking Creating a North American, non-XL New 3DS

When I first decided to try using the mset exploit, I installed it from the gateway menu, and I found that it didn't properly take when done that way and would throw an error much like what you describe. What worked for me was installing the flash card white list cia that is included in the...

    Hacking [Guide] Change emuNAND Region

Not quite that thread, it was the guide made from the original thread where this all happened. https://gbatemp.net/threads/creating-a-north-american-non-xl-new-3ds.381775/page-44#post-5476953 is the thread I meant and that is my post collecting and detailing exactly what I did to make everything...

    Hacking [Guide] Change emuNAND Region

This is related to the on-screen keyboard. Basically, anything that makes use of it will crash your 3ds. So long as you don't play any games that don't require its use at some point, you'll be fine. I had this issue briefly when I changed my n3ds LL from JPN to US. I think what ends up fixing it...

Hacking Remove update nag from emuNand?

Repeated vouching for simply leaving your 3DS in emunand with the wifi on until it attempts to connect to updatecdn, and then killing the wifi before anything actually downloads. This also requires that a newer firmware than the one you've downloaded is currently available, but I can assure you...

Hacking Remove update nag from emuNand?

I can attest to the above, though in my case, I needed to wait a bit more than 5-10s. I found it fixes once it contacts the updatecdn server, in my case I just watched my access logs and the second updatecdn showed up, I disabled the wifi, and now my nag is gone.

Hacking [WIP] KARL3DS - Kernel access on N3DS via Ninjhax + Loadcode

Well, to be fair, Sega tried towards the end to clamp down the piracy problem, late model Dreamcasts don't read burned media, but by that point things were pretty much dead for the console. I'd actually argue that the rampant widespread piracy for the console nearly saved it, and not so much...

Hacking [WIP] KARL3DS - Kernel access on N3DS via Ninjhax + Loadcode

Funny you mention the exploit part, at first I was going to nit pick on that, too, but then I decided since you specified handheld, then it was an accurate and true statement by all accounts. But, as a general console, you're right, it's not necessarily the most exploited, since a lot of...

Hacking [WIP] KARL3DS - Kernel access on N3DS via Ninjhax + Loadcode

Just to pick nits, since if you're gonna start calling people on fact-checking, you'd best not be coming up short. 'Top grossing handheld ever' does not belong to the PSP, not by a long-shot. Nintendo DS 154.01 million PlayStation Portable 82 million I'll agree with most exploited handheld...

Hacking Should I hold on to CB? N3DS Emunand question

To clarify, the GW firmware prefix only appears in emunand's mset, and the mset downgrade happens to your sysnand's mset, and the sysnand would never show the GW prefix. If you're absolutely 100% certain you are in emunand and it doesn't have the GW prefix, then that is a bug I've seen can...
