    Sky3ds works on all firmwares, I wouldnt recommend buying that or a gateway at this point tho. If the 3ds comes under firmware 11, it can be downgraded on its own. If it comes with firmware 11 and up, they may need your help with your 3ds to do it. Check that and follow this guide...
