Hacking SWITCH NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Yes I did. My guess is that the metadata that says which game is actually installed, is contained on the switch memory and not on the sdcard, which is why they’re not detected ?

Hacking SWITCH NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Hi, I have a 200gb microsd card with EmuNand installed on it. Today, I bought a new 400gb microsd card to replace my old 200gb microsd card. I backuped the files from my 200gb card, then I installed SX EmuNand on the 400gb one, and finally I transfered the files back. The issue is when my boot...

Wow that's good to know, thanks. So if I restore my SysNand before doing the whole EmuNand installation, I should be fine, right?

Hacking SWITCH NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Hello, I have a Switch on 6.2.0 using ChoiDuJour with AutoRCM enabled and running SXOS on my SysNand (in airplane mode since day 1). I would like to install SX's EmuNand on my SD card, and then get a clean SysNand state, but I wanted to make sure that I don't forget a step: 1) Backup current...

Hacking SWITCH NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

But Hekate already has sleep/wake support (which is what @Lacius means by warmboot I assume?) Also AutoRCM kinda allows untethered coldboot even if it is slightly unsafe. And that post talks about 1.0-4.1, but what about 5.0+?

Hacking SWITCH NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Is there still any benefits in having a 4.1 Switch instead of a 5.x Switch, especially since Fusée/Atmosphère work on 5.x?

Hacking SWITCH NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Hello, I have a Switch with firmware 5.0.0, I would like to backup my saves (in order to transfer them to another Switch, but later, let's say in a few weeks or months) Is there any way to do this currently on 5.0.0? Hekate + Checkpoint?

Hacking 3DS NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Thanks! I followed the guide and successfully downgraded! I have one more question: if I wanted to use another SD card (a 64GB one) instead of the original SD card (4GB), what would be a good time to do it? Before starting Part 3 (rednand, luma, ..) of the guide? Is there anything I should take...

Hacking 3DS NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

New3DS XL on firmware 9.5.0-23E here. I googled a lot and found pretty scary stories about the downgrade being unstable on N3DS and people bricking their consoles. However the posts were 5 months old. What's the current status today? How can I safely downgrade to 9.2? Thanks!

Hacking N3DS 10.7, Gateway, what are my options?

Hello everyone! I currently own a N3DS on firmware 10.7 I also have an O3DS 4.5 with Gateway and the latest emunand. My plan is to use Gateway to install emunand on my N3DS, but after some hours googling I'm still a bit confused on how to proceed, and I would like to avoid doing stupid things...

Homebrew Big Red Menu - Legal CIA installer/uninstaller

I'm trying to compile BigRedMenu with a modified lua code, but that index.cpp file seems to be generated from index.lua, how did you do it? Thanks

Hacking Some FAQ For The New 3.0 BETA Update

    Q. It says everywhere that you need 4.5+ for GW ULTRA, but what about those with 4.1/4.2/4.3/4.4, do they have to stay with GW OMEGA?

Homebrew [W.i.P] Lua Player Plus - First Lua Interpreter for 3DS

I noticed some huge fps drops while trying to use drawImage. 10 images: 60 fps 20 images: 30 fps 40 images: 20 fps etc. I guess that's because it's drawing each pixel for each image.

Homebrew [W.i.P] Lua Player Plus - First Lua Interpreter for 3DS

Please pardon my gcc noobness, but when I try to compile lpp-3ds I get an error (while executing the makefile): I've downloaded and compiled devkitARM, and libctru (and exported both paths) I'm trying to compile on Debian 8 i686 with gcc 4.9.1 Any ideas of what's wrong? It looks like it...

    Homebrew Homebrew Development

Hey guys, I was wondering if it was technically possible to have background running homebrews, like services. It'd be really useful, but I can't find any infos on google. Asking anyway.

Hacking Gateway 3DS working on the New Nintendo 3DS.

Hey guys, I was just wondering, does anyone know if emuNAND can be patched by Nintendo ? eg. do you think that Nintendo could release a new version of its firmware that can't be used as an emunand even on 3DS 4.x

Finally received my gateway today :) (...except I wasn't there when it got delivered (required a signature) so I'll have to drive by the post office tomorrow) But yeah, you should hopefully receive it soon too.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
