Emulating games going forward a thing of the past?

Thankfully, if Nintendo is smart, their next console's hardware will be solid enough to not encourage people to emulate it, much like how nearly everyone who bought any console from the PS4 onward was content with the hardware. Although, lack of freedom with things like mods will take some...

I have accidentally deleted the files on my SD card and now 3ds won't boot

This happened to me recently. What worked for me was formatting the SD card to FAT32. Sorry in advance if this isn't helpful.

Homebrew The Wii U Homebrew Request Thread

If possible, I would like homebrew that allows one to switch between limited range and full range RGB over HDMI. I really want any form of response to this.

ROM Hack Antisavegame Restore / Secure Value Updater (PS, ACNL, PRW, SSB, XY, ORAS...)

If you have custom firmware on your 3DS, download and install Checkpoint. You can find your Shuffle save by looking for the folder in your SD card called "0004000000141000" (use the search function in Windows Explorer). The Shuffle save file is likely called "savedata.bin", and you can simply...

Hardware New 3DS XL brightness issue

That's actually what I figured, because I eventually bought a second motherboard and it had the proper brightness. Whereas the first one I bought was pre-flashed with CFW, so what you wrote is very likely the explanation.

Hardware New 3DS XL brightness issue

Welp, even though I got no replies, I may as well write an update for whoever may end up being in my situation. Basically, if you accidentally break the motherboard or power board of a dual-IPS 3DS, it's a pain in the *ss to find a proper replacement. Otherwise, it either doesn't boot or the...

    They're both dual IPS.

Hardware New 3DS XL brightness issue

What hardware controls screen brightness? I recently reconstructed a New 3DS XL that has dual IPS screens using a new motherboard and power board, and I found my screens to be noticeably dimmer than my smaller New 3DS, even with max brightness and power-conserving settings turned off. I attached...

Gaming Pokémon Global Link note says almost 6,000 people have been banned online for having altered save da

Well...because the ban is tied to your Game Sync ID, you'd have to unlink your game. However, you can't re-link the same version. At least that's my understanding.

Gaming Pokémon Global Link note says almost 6,000 people have been banned online for having altered save da

I did ask for someone to show me how this scenario is different, meaning I'm not 100% sure. I advise you wait.

Gaming Pokémon Global Link note says almost 6,000 people have been banned online for having altered save da

I agree with much of what you're saying. Yes, generally speaking, hacks should be kept to yourself, but my point is that some people online seem to be scaring people away from genning even though there's no proof that legal genning can get you banned and it has never happened before. And in my...

Gaming Pokémon Global Link note says almost 6,000 people have been banned online for having altered save da

Are people seriously afraid of using PKHeX at all after this fiasco? Quite literally, in the history of the series, no one has ever been banned online for genning a legal Pokemon. Perhaps insane judges at tournaments will ban you for merely having a 5IV Pokemon a couple generations ago, but...

    Homebrew oot3DHax 10.6 Help

This is just a suggestion, but I've seen people say 10.5 payloads work perfectly well with 10.6. I was exactly in your predicament up until a few minutes ago. Basically, go to Smealum's website, input your version number, and try to match the .bin file's name with the one from the oot3Dhax folder.

Homebrew What demos or games have you tried on n3ds HANS app 800mhz overclock?

Sorry to inform you that 3D turned on in a grass terrain really doesn't improve lag very much (in ORAS). Did you try this with smaller Pokemon models or something?

ROM Hack Antisavegame Restore / Secure Value Updater (PS, ACNL, PRW, SSB, XY, ORAS...)

From what I've read, svdt requires homebrew, so I'd rather just use this tool. It looks like I'm clearly misunderstanding something. Could you please interpret what I'm doing wrong based on the attached images? In this case, the string comparison is after using the tool. Am I not supposed to use...

ROM Hack Antisavegame Restore / Secure Value Updater (PS, ACNL, PRW, SSB, XY, ORAS...)

This doesn't work for me. In fact, upon opening the save files with HxD, I noticed that the strings in offset 00065400 are identical even before using the tool and the files still don't load into the game. Doesn't this mean that this is the wrong secure value offset for Pokemon X and Y?

    Hacking [Release] rxTools - Roxas75 3DS Toolkit [fw 2.0 - 9.2]

So, I have three 3DSs. On one of them, when I try to dump SecureInfo_A using rxTools, it tells me "Dumping...cannot read from file. Press A to exit." On the other two, rxTools fails to even boot and instead it freezes and there are graphical artifacts on the bottom screen. Anyone know what's...

Tutorial How to Create a North American, non-XL New 3DS

Nope, it didn't work. RxTools still says "Dumping...Cannot read from file! Press A to exit." This problem existed before your update last night.

Tutorial How to Create a North American, non-XL New 3DS

So, when I try to dump SecureInfo_A, it either tells me it can't read the file or rxTools doesn't even load and the bottom screen is graphical artifacts. Clearing cache and cookies didn't fix it. There seems to be another requirement that's missing. I imagine the latter problem is caused by...
