Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

This crap is pre-setting the random value in /tmp/nzone. God, why does this have to be so freaking annoying. Oh snap, escape character. PROGRESS

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

Finally developed a solution for DD-WRT routers for cycling with a lot of surfing and trying to find a random number generation that works in vanilla DD-WRT. Testing... Fuck, I'm stuck again because it isn't changing the value. Still trying. I'm using RANDOM=$(cat /dev/urandom | tr -dc...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

Get one off Amazon/Walmart like suggested earlier. It's going to be cheaper than what you'll end up being able to find by half at minimum.

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

I'm pretty sure we have a solution now from what duke sent me--I just have to wait until I get off work at 4est to test it out. Switching the -c flag with -n and pulling one line and some other manipulation I think.

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

This picture http://m.imgur.com/a/a07os Explains it way better than I could with words. You need to configure it like this on the access point that your DS is directly connecting to.

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

From my understanding of how all this crap works, as long as you can make a wireless access point and you're able to modify the MAC of the wireless part of the access point, you're going to be successful. You HAVE to change the Wireless MAC--nothing else matters.

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

Same thing, a Linksys. Wonder if it's the DD-WRT firmware for our type of router. Meh. There's gotta be another way. Also I'm on the "Big" version for 21061...

Yeah, it's not liking the head -c in the script. At all.

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

Pretty sure it's not going to work for you either given the results of what happened with me. You'll need to manually change the values at the moment if you want to streetpass until a fix gets posted or I finally have the time to dig back into UNIX scripting myself. Random entertaining note...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

a Linksys E1200, but I've figured out that the problem is that even though I'm (and probably you) are using the same DD-WRT build the person that wrote the script is on, for some reason it's not allowing us to use the "-c" option on the head command, which means it's not able to properly pull...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

Setup -> MAC Address Clone -> Enable -> Clone Wireless MAC is the only one you need to change to get it to register as a Nintendozone, as long as the router's got access to the interwebs.

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

"Just a quick question. When I first set this up, Nintendo Zone shows up fine because of the SSID, but do I need to turn MAC cloning on or will the commands work on their own? Also, is there a way to set this to run 24/7 instead of just during a time frame?" From what I've figured out so far...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

ALRIGHT, I've got something here finally on the quest to get this fixed. It's telling me there's an arithmetic error on line 5 when trying to run this script (I telnet'd in). And, here's lines 1 through 5: #!/bin/sh TITLES="OO@OOAOOBOOCOODOOEOOFOOGOOHOOIOOJOOKOOLOOMOONOOO" BASE="NSP"...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

Turns out that in my haste to try to get this set up, I make the noobiest of noob mistakes ever--plugged the damn cable into the wrong ports. I was setting up a router as a switch by accident, and not connecting the daisy chained router through its WAN port. Shooting myself, I'm sure it's...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

I've been trying to make this work for a while now, doing restarts of the router, making sure I'm on build 21061 like you, changing the cron job even to execute every 5 minutes with no required time frame, but the MAC for Wireless never updates. I've already gotten a few Streetpasses to work...

Blah. 3 of my NSO + Expansion Pass family group members are leaving. Found one replacement so far but still need to fill two empty slots. I have 9 days or i eat the extra cost myself. But with a full group $11 for a year is a good deal. imo
