    It's not that you can decline it when it asks, it's the annoyance of it popping up to apply the update randomly when opening the 3DS. If you accidentally click A or Yes, then you are SOL.

    It's not that, it's just that it can cause pretty easy accidents if someone else opens the lid or you don't pay attention. The system needs a way to disable the prompt and/or disable automatic downloads completely.

    The silence of Gateway is indeed disturbing. They are lying through their teeth when they say they are unsure if the card works with the new firmware.

    If you just leave the 3DS in sleep mode, when you wake it up it rarely prompts. I haven't been prompted since the first two times and I have opened it almost a dozen times. I agree that they shouldn't be allowed to throw it in your face like that.

    I got the same cut and paste reply from Gateway about them going to test the firmware soon. This doesn't leave me hopeful since mere hours after the update went live you know they knew one way or the other if their card was working or not.
