    I'll probably be running all my backups off USB, no use wasting DVDs. Why is my Wii not loading the 100% genuine GC discs? By genuine, I mean that they were made by Nintendo, as opposed to burned at home. The discs play fine on the GC we have (which has never been modden in any way.)

    Hey, I got the DIOSMIOS_2.8.wad installed, turns out I needed to install a more modern cIOS. All's well so far, I have to go do some chores right now, I'll be testing the next steps shortly. Wish me luck!

    Absolutely not. It's vital that the SD card be an SD card (as opposed to the more modern SDHC cards.) If the card says SDHC on the side, or is over 2 Gig, then it's SDHC and will not work for patching the Wii... :( sorry. On the bright side, I can't think of a way that that would brick your...

    rooskie54 pointed me towards this thread, which has had a link to HackMii buried in it. I still have the file sitting in my Downloads folder, so I can send it to you if you want. The file is almost impossible to find anywhere... :(

    I used Wilbrand+HackMii to get the HBC installed, I remember using the LetterBomb.
