Hacking New Firmware update
For those that are interested, r4ids released their 4.4.0 patch http://www.r4ids.cn/r4i-download-e.html, borrowed a friends dslite, but i cant seem to get it to update... tried the dsi 1.44 update and that worked fine so not sure why it wont do the 4.4.0 update for me.- Blacky12

Personally, i do believe it. If im reading that correct its saying the nds is trying to write something onto the game card (outside of save games or whatever). Its not much of a leap to wonder why nintendo would be doing such a thing. Almost everyone (games makers) seem to think its unfair they...- Blacky12

Out of curiosity as this is the first time i've gotten my card "blocked". My card still appears in the console when i plug it in, it just fails to startup: Is this normally what happens? my understand was that when the card got blocked it ceased appearing in the console all together. Actually that does prompt another question... my card does still appear in the 3ds when i insert it: But fails when i open it: I mean obviously its got issues, but does this mean its still the card firmware or the kernel thats failing in that case? From what i've read when the card is...- Blacky12

OH RIGHT, now i get it. Mine doesnt actually use dosaru, but mine is still showing the icon for the card in the menu when i insert it (just crashes when i try to run it). Thankfully i have a friend with a dsi or dslite (not sure which) and the card still works ok in that one. Thanks for the...- Blacky12

Oh I c, i guess i miss-understood how the r4i card from r4ids.cn works in that case. So presumably when the wood r4 update comes out supporting 4.4.0, im going to have to get my hands on something like a dslite to update the card itself?- Blacky12

Ahhh, quick question as this thread made me confused about something... I updated to 4.4.0 on my 3ds without thinking and sure enough it blocked the card, but reading around i stumbled onto this and i just wanted to check.
