    I took the easy way out : I restored the sysnand from a hourglass back up I made a few weeks ago and the icons do all work now So some how the sysnand became corrupted Glad I l took this site's advice and have many back-ups Thanks to all for their help and advice

    Even without the SD card inserted, the console icons such as settings will not open, just the infernal boinks sound by clicking on it with the stylus The sd card is fine all 4 emunands run fine it just the sysnand with this problem

    I want really keep it simple I think maybe not sending the magnet may be a good idea; who knows it may set off a USPS alarm and the letter could get side tracked and delayed as well as increase postage I am sending the cart to Xeonhawk and then they can send it to the next requester once finished

    You may be right. But I will put my trust into our forum brotherhood and human decency. I mean if someone is going to rip off for a mere $20 (or any amount really), they can't be much of a human being and will have to live with that on their conscience.

    One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.

    I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

    Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
