Gaming Pokemon Emerald ROM, Flashcart, DS link, and save file questions...

So, I wanted to do a follow up post in case anyone else came along with similar questions and wanted to know how it all worked out (which is often left out of these types of topics): 1. The EZ Flash IV and Visual Boy Advance work together with the Pokemon Emerald ROM's save file flawlessly...

Gaming Pokemon Emerald ROM, Flashcart, DS link, and save file questions...

I'm really glad someone who's not good with these things is answering my questions then. *nudge* ;) I kid, I kid. Thanks for the input. As far as gamesharking goes - no, actually. I generally avoid it, but they never did release the Old Sea Chart for U.S. gamers so hacking it is. Personally, I...

Gaming Pokemon Emerald ROM, Flashcart, DS link, and save file questions...

Hmm... yeah, seems they were unable to get it to create a save file. I may just tinker around with it though and see if I have any luck. It's not entirely necessary, but it would be nice to replay it on PC and then send it to a flash cart or the 3 in 1 to transfer to the DS games. @BerserkLeon...

Gaming Pokemon Emerald ROM, Flashcart, DS link, and save file questions...

Hey, thanks for the response, tom. I'm not so sure #2 is that straightforward though. If I remember correctly, there was something special that had to be done with the Emerald save file to ensure that the DS game could access and read the save file from the GBA slot correctly. Anybody know...

Gaming Pokemon Emerald ROM, Flashcart, DS link, and save file questions...

First off, I apoligize if I'm putting this in the wrong place. I wasn't entirely sure as I'm covering a few things. I also apologize if a lot of this has been asked before, but I can at least promise you that I'm a rather competent and nice guy ;) So I'm wondering if I can do a few things... 1)...

    Hacking Pimp my Micro :P

Thanks, Dan! And roger that on always starting with a clean ROM. That might be my problem actually, as now that I think about it, I may have previously patched Sword of Mana for my iPlayer (don't judge, this was years ago when the iPlayer was brand spanking new and worth trying out :P).

    Hacking Pimp my Micro :P

Yes, same as for PocketNES, from that same thread too. Interestingly enough though, I tried it again for the hell of it and it's working perfectly now and saves just like it should on exit. I was working on it rather late last night, so it's entirely possible I screwed something up (maybe used a...

    Hacking Pimp my Micro :P

Hey guys, It's been awhile but I just wanted to say thanks again for all of the help. I received my EZF4 awhile ago and was able to set it up with ease. I'm very impressed with how well it works and PocketNES is pretty amazing as well. It's a bit different building the ROMs into the emulator...

    Hacking Pimp my Micro :P

@Dan - No worries about all the edits, I appreciate you filling in the additional details. My experience with DS flashcarts such as the R4 and M3i Zero has taught me to do my homework with SD cards and compatibility, but unfortunately I had already purchased a SC miniSD before making this topic...

    Hacking Pimp my Micro :P

raulpica and Dan, thank you both for the additional info. The helpfulness and thoroughness of the gbatemp forums is refreshing :D I did some poking around after HDIDT gave his responses and found information that agrees with what you've posted. I ended up going with both the SC miniSD and the...

    Hacking Pimp my Micro :P

Hey, thanks so much for the reply and the information. Sorry about my OP - I wrote it pretty late at night and probably could have worded that better. I meant emulation of NES and such on GBA not emulating GBA (pointless of course since you're already playing on one). The better thing to have...

    Hacking Pimp my Micro :P

Hi everyone! I believe this is my first time actually posting here, despite frequenting the site for years. I recently acquired a brand new GBA micro, still in the box, and it is a glorious little device. Now I'd like to turn it into the ultimate gaming device on the go. What are your...

    iPlayer GBA Emulator v1.1

Thanks a lot for the tips! Not exiting is probably why I didn't have the greatest success with RTS before. Now I can enjoy GBA games on the massive screen of my XL, haha.

    iPlayer GBA Emulator v1.1

Ah, gotcha. Thanks for the info. Is the RTS reliable enough to attempt playing through a game? I've been meaning to try playing the second Summon Night again and some other titles but didn't want to get half way through only to lose my save.

    iPlayer GBA Emulator v1.1

Haven't been keeping up with the iPlayer for awhile, but have they fixed the issues with saving yet?

The croissant crust is still available though, but not quite as good imo.
