    Hacking Loadstructor

At least for Hermes' cIOS may this be a fix: When you look into the changelog of Hermes cIOS 5.1, you see that he renamed module /dev/usb2 into /dev/usb123. This change needs to be done in cLoader as well. Currently, since the last (hot)fix, cLoader looks at /dev/usb2 and /dev/usb/ehc. Either fs...

Hacking ** USB HD Spindown Issues and Answers **

Well that's a bump that hurts! All I can say is that I stopped wasting time seaching for a tool to disable APM on that B8B WD Drive. I'm running fine all games on HDD copied from my original DVDs (for lazy purpose)...even new Mario Galaxy 2 (it rocks!)...without any (spindown-) problems...and...

    Hacking Loadstructor

Cluster & wiiNinja - just wanted to say thanks for your great application(s). Just a short success story. Created my last Channels fine with v1.4/v1.3 until last week when I got WiiSports2 (aka WSR) as a gift. Orig DVD wanted SystemUpdate, so I tried first with BackupLoader. Still 002 error...

Hacking What Cios rev is the Best?

...I'm not sure whether its a matter of luck... I stopped playing/upgrading around when everything (I want/have) was working. And it was at Rev9. No problem running BoomBlox for hours. Even the latest acquisition, LKS, is running fine (all night long ). So for me Rev.9 is the Best.

    Hacking Loadstructor

Look at my post @ #164 on page 11. My channels are working fine with Rev9 using Channel Constructor v1.4 on Wii 3.4E

    Hacking Loadstructor

@TeenTin: Did you ever try to use a WAD created via Loadstructor+cLoader on your Wii with Rev9? I see that cLoaders fat.c is already able to "fall-back" to Rev9 fatMounting code if Rev10 code fails... cool but: because - as far as I see - this code is never called, it must be something else why...

    Hacking Loadstructor

Great! I appreciate that! Will have a look later when I'm at home... Cool...I just saw that loadstructor is based on Pascal. Last time I used it was in school loong time ago. jaja... "unit", "begin", "end", ... I really loved that

    Hacking Loadstructor

...did I understand this correct and cIOS rev10 is needed? Other way: Your cLoader is not working with cIOS Rev9? If this is the case... do you plan to share the SourceCode for your cLoader? If not...never mind! I'm curious...maybe it's the same easy fix that I used for other apps already...

Hacking ** USB HD Spindown Issues and Answers **

Hi Azngamer15... the most interesting point would be: will the HDD keep the changed APM settings even after power down? If you unplug and plug in again...will it keep the settings you changed with that tool before unplug? btw: I have seen that I have less problems (none so far) when using USB...

Hacking Cover Flow USB ISO Loader by Beardface

At least one understood... I'm not alone! ...isn't that sad? I thought a forum is there for example to ask questions and with some luck get somebody who knows an answer... All I got is "your objection" (did I object?!), "good luck", being a "pussy", "bitching all(!) the time", "piss people...

Hacking ** USB HD Spindown Issues and Answers **

...some new investigation: Does somebody know the program "CrystalDiskInfo"? Should be able to do the same as HDDScan...access USB HDD via Win32 and control APM. But I'm not sure whether this program has the option to permanently set the APM control. I'm on work, don't have my WD with me and...

Hacking Cover Flow USB ISO Loader by Beardface

...just a short question: Is there a significant reason why this (really cool & fast!) USBLoader will result in DSI-Dump when using cIOS249 rev9? I know it needs rev10...but why? I would like to skip rev10 (please no discussion about their revisions!)...I'm able to compile your source code by...

Hacking ** USB HD Spindown Issues and Answers **

Good point swarmster. But, to be short: it won't help. I found sdparm last week. Had some time this weekend to play with it. But (shame ) only under W32. But I didn't get it managed to send/receive drive/vendor specific data/commands from/to the USB-HDD. sdparm has some "vendor" specific parms...

Hacking ** USB HD Spindown Issues and Answers **

hm... looks like no more satisfying findings... I tried to find out how it could be possible to send the "SET FEATURE" (EFh) with SubCommand "Disable APM" (85h) command directly to the attached USB-HDD. Yes, these are IDE/ATA specifications (I have the PDF somewhere here...) and therefore...

Hacking ** USB HD Spindown Issues and Answers **

...when it's official, it should be found on their website, correct? All I can find there is the "Spindown or Stop Utility". And this program is doing the opposite... from the readme.txt: ( Main features: - It gives a list of all WD external drives connected to the USB and 1394 ports. - Allows...

Hacking ** USB HD Spindown Issues and Answers **

Hi erolz - I hear you. I have exactly the same situation here. WD type B8B I read myself since some days thru that stuff... with the following results/ideas (so far): 1. the solution, using hdparm will not work, because it is not working with USB-drives. Older WD's (cases) could be...
