Hardware Avoid broken SD card connector before it happens!

At some point, many of you will encounter an issue with your SD cards not being able to be read. If you are lucky, the cable has just come loose from the motherboard. If you are unlucky, the motherboard connector is damaged. The main cause of a broken SD card connector on the motherboard is...

Hardware Problem With SD Card Reader Seat From Nintendo Switch Mother Board

The main cause of a broken SD card connector on the motherboard is repeated insertion and ejection of the SD card. There is a single screw that mounts the SD slot daughtercard to the motherboard. As that screw becomes loose, the board can wiggle, and that causes the cable connecting it to the...

Hacking USB Loader GX + NTFS Part = Black Screen

Well, I tried creating a WBFS partition on the drive instead and that works with GX, so I know it is not an issue with the drive. I have tried with NTFS using wanin 249 v20, Hermes 222/223 v5, all just stay on black sreen and don't get to the health screen. Going to try Configurable USB Loader now

Hacking USB Loader GX + NTFS Part = Black Screen

I just set up homebrew on a friends Wii. USB Loader GX works fine if I use my hd that is formatted as WBFS. Since she wanted to be able to use her HD for her PC too I used NTFS for hers and used Wii Backup Manager copy the games from my WBFS partition to the wbfs folder on her drive. When I...

Hardware Error 002 with NetFlix disk and WiiKey2

(ah, I see now someone posted that it needs sm 4.2 installed. Does anyone know exactly what IOS the Netflix disk requires to be updated?) If I try to use the (original) Netflix disk through the disk channel on my Wii with WiiKey2, I get a 002 error every time. Any idea why? (using sm 4.1U) I...

Hardware Recommend me a replacment modchip please.

The WiiKey didn't need a fix because it has full GC Streaming Audio support built in. The most likely cause is a bad burn, since any glitch in the audio part causes an error. Try a different brand of DVD-R such as TDK, and burn at 2x or 4x. See if that fixes it.

    Hacking Backup Proof Drive (D3-2)

Umm, dummy, the serial number is listed on the outside of the box too! You don't even have to buy it in the first place if it is one that is known to have the new drive.

    Hacking 4.2 half updated

If you used the newest hackmii installer it is normal that HBC would still be there. The new hackmii changed the name of HBC. 4.2 looks for the old name and deletes it if it is found. Bannerbomb is disabled on 4.2 if you updated through Ninty. Hence that is why you crash if you try to use...

Hacking wiimote not connecting on homebrew applications

Read your Wii manual for how to Sync your Wiimote permanently. A temporary sync will be lost whenever an IOS reload occurs. If you have not sync'ed your remote using the red sync button, you have not done a permanent sync.

    Hardware Brown Clip Broken

It needs pressure to make a good connection with the pins on the bottom. That is what that clips purpose is. Maybe try inserting a thin piece of cardboard or plastic on top of the ribbon to increase the pressure. Just a theory. Have not tried it.

    Hacking Bootmii install question

Not correct. Before the SDHC standard was created, there were a few 4Gb SD cards available, that are compatible with standard SD.

Hardware I accidentally ripped a solder pad off the Wii

If you are lucky, the board trace will connect to the pad on the top layer of the board. Look for where the board trace connected to the pad, then follow the trace to the next solder point and solder to there.

    Hardware Wii Remote not working!

If you think it may be the IR sensor, try using the cursor pad to select channels. Does the blue light stay on on the remote? You may want to try fresh batteries in it. If you are using rechargeable batteries, check they are charging properly. If it is coming on for a few seconds then dying...
