    Hacking wiiboxart.com poorly?

It makes absolutely no sense. But it's all academic anyway - there is absolutely no need to use ip or username; just put the pics on a website and let people download. The server load and bandwidth is minimal - it's only if you try profiteering that everything gets awkward.

    Hacking wiiboxart.com poorly?

Actually, most news providers (certainly giganews) who outsource have certain ip ranges that they allow, if you are coming from outside of that range then you have to input a username/pass.

And then the developers of that movie get the money for it. That however isn't like for like - it's a terrible analogy. Closer would be, the internet was being watched/tpb down so you went to some scum at a boot sale and bought a copy from him.

    Hacking wiiboxart.com poorly?

That maybe the case in the USA, but most of europe has mixed static and dynamic ISP's. IP authorisation is useless for something like this - if it worked gbatemp, torrentsites etc would all use it. At a very minimum ip/ident would be needed (such as irc) - but who's going to write an ident...

Hacking DownloadCovers - New Tool to Download Covers Easily

I've not come to an agreededment [sic] with you yet. My problem is people like yourself, trying to make money off the back of not only the game devs, but also of all the people who put the time and effort into collecting the art work (and those who created customs). Many of whom spent longer...

Hacking DownloadCovers - New Tool to Download Covers Easily

You can keep repeating "BUT THEY ARE FREE", but you are charging money. What you are saying is the equivalent of me giving DVD-R's of games away free (one at a time only), and say "if you want more you'll have to pay". Then when challenged about it saying "But you can get them free!". If it...

Hacking DownloadCovers - New Tool to Download Covers Easily

Dexter222 has offered to do just that, HERE. As the coverart was a collective effort I'm sure djtaz won't have a problem supplying all the boxart to dexter (for free) so that what you suggest can be put into practice. The problem is then over, agreed?

    Hacking wiiboxart.com poorly?

That entire post is win - not only are you pointing out the obvious, you are offering to even do it. I'm sure you'll be ignored though, as doing it your way won't make anyone money...

Hacking DownloadCovers - New Tool to Download Covers Easily

As you are well aware, I've already replied to that very question HERE. I'll copy it here for you though: " Why?, they aren't making money out of it. The artwork is under just as much copyright as the rest of the game. In the N64 days, Nintendo used to often send C&D letters threatening court...

Hacking DownloadCovers - New Tool to Download Covers Easily

The entire purpose of usenet is not for piracy. It can be used for it, but it has many other uses (and has done for longer than piracy has existed on the net). You pay your money for the use of the entire protocol. The whole point of the wiiboxart site is for you to download copyrighted...

Hacking USB loader charges for it to download covers.

Oh yeah, just what we need - people trying to make money off config files. GTFO - that's not what gbatemp or the "scene" in general is about. Some people can code, so do. Others can't code but can test. Some are good at image manipulation and can edit covers/create customs. Some can design...

YOU CAN ALSO PAY FOR THEM! Meaning money is being made from both piracy, and the collective efforts of the community. simple as that.

Why?, they aren't making money out of it. The artwork is under just as much copyright as the rest of the game. In the N64 days, Nintendo used to often send C&D letters threatening court action to websites that hosted boxart for free. Obviously nintendo have relaxed over time (MS get lots of...

That is how it all started off. Then people decided they wanted to host it on their own sites.

    Hacking wiiboxart.com poorly?

So lemmie get this right, lots of people started producing packs of covers on gbatemp. djtaz offers to host them instead of them using freehosts. yet more people put in their time to collect and upload covers. djtaz then starts charging for the work everyone else has put in. Then goes in a...

    Hacking wiiboxart.com poorly?

Seems everyone is taking money from piracy these days. The kids selling dvd-rs in school, the fella at the car boot sale with his £1.50 dvd-rs, people who simply host a few covers. If only nintendo could get some of that cash...

Hacking Is this card THIS BAD?

No, what you actually said was : "I don't disagree that some people might feel that saving $5 is worth having a laggy menu, ...etc... or have any of the other myriad features that are standard with nearly every other flash cart. I simply believe that those people are probably in the minority"...

Hacking Is this card THIS BAD?

You can believe it, the sales figures show (some would say sadly) that what you believe isn't true. People buy what is cheap, and what they know (hence the continued sales of the R4)

    R4i RTS announced

Dingbat move? Do you realise how many people use the term "R4" to refer to a flashcart. In some areas that is all people want (hence the massive amount of clones - they don't do it for fun you know). The company behind this realise how much money is in it for them if they use the R4 name, and...

Hacking Is this card THIS BAD?

"slightly lower" = almost half the price to the next cheapest. Again, not the cart for me but I know plenty of people who are happy with them, despite seeing the "advanced features" that some of the flashcarts I own have.
