Nintendo Switch firmware update 18.0.1 has been released

That explains the update my Switch did this morning when I grabbed it to take to work.

Nintendo Switch port of 'One Piece Odyssey' gets release date

It's a turn based RPG. The game itself is very similar to DQ while combat has some similarities to Persona (the way weaknesses and criticals work, as well as combos). Outside of combat each character has a skill which is needed for certain stuff (kinda like HM's in Pokemon).

Nintendo Switch port of 'One Piece Odyssey' gets release date

Bought the game for PS5 and the game is way better than I was expecting. It starts a bit slow, roughly the first hour, after that it improves a lot. For people who enjoy One Piece and Dragon Quest, it's an absolute gem. If you don't read or watch One Piece, it can be confusing, but for fans...

    Did you use Floppy Disk/Diskettes?

I stilll have plenty. In my highschool the stationary store used to have floppy disks for sale, each box had one translucent red and they always saved those for me. Each one cost 0,45€, still have plenty with Duke Nukem 3D and several Mega Drive roms.

'Sand Land' gets new 'Forest Land' trailer

Can't wait to receive my LE, the game looks great.

'Alpha Protocol', Obsidian's espionage RPG, returns to PC with GOG launch

Don't remember the game being removed from Steam tbh, I've had it for a while and it's a game that actually runs really well on the Deck. It's unfortunate that it had to be pulled from Steam.

Disco-like RPG 'Broken Roads' to launch next month

Isn't that a CRPG? I love the genre and from what I read about that game, I'd compare it more to older Fallout, Wasteland, Encased and Atom RPG (based on the theme alone, although there are a few more I'm forgetting atm). Hopefully it'll have controller support, I used the current steam sale...

Game Pass gets its first Activision-Blizzard title in Diablo IV next week

It's not being given for "free" per se, it was always going to be part of Game Pass sooner or later after they Microsoft bought Blizzard. Personally I haven't tried the game yet since it's always online, which I hate. If it was like Diablo 3 on consoles I'd bite though.

Denuvo unveils new technology "TraceMark" aimed to watermark and easily trace leaked games

They know better at least. When I was managing the website for my workplace, I had to change a lot of stuff and make things as clear as possible. You can get some seriously heavy fines and big companies would rather avoid it.

Denuvo unveils new technology "TraceMark" aimed to watermark and easily trace leaked games

Denuvo is Austrian, and Austria is part of the EU (so they probably know their GDPR).

'Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes' gets new trailer

By the way, a lot of people are calling a Hundred Heroes a sequel, it is not a sequel to Rising. Rising was a "companion" title that supposedly served as a prologue to the Hundred Heroes game. They are related, but it was more of a bonus game.

Survival game 'V Rising' to launch out of Early Access in May

Bought the game some time ago to play on the Deck, it's a pretty fun game. Starts a bit confusing at first, but clears things up as it goes along.

'Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes' gets new trailer

That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it doesn't, it seems to be 2.5D which is pretty cool imho.

The Unknowns of Emulation: A Breakdown of Yuzu V. Nintendo

The EU does protect the consumer, to a certain point. There exists the European Union Intellectual Property Offic, they had a recent report on how software and tv piracy has been increasing since 2021. There's a serious risk recently with the EU wanting a backdoor to everyone's online data...

Citra 3DS emulator is also shutting down development, GitHub repo taken down

China has been going after Nintendo piracy for a while, Tencent works with Nintendo in China and Tencent is well... Anyway, they've been going at it for a few years now.

The MigSwitch can redeem expired Gold Coins, and maybe it can potentially do other stuff do.

While piracy is "eh" at best, gold points are converted to real money, there is no way this is acceptable in any way, people abusing this probably will and should have their accounts banned.

Removal of the Patron exclusive chat from the Chit Chat

I thought the patreon had finished? I remember joining patreon but eventually just supporting directly from the site. While I am not a frequent poster anymore, I often lurk. I have been around the temp for way too long, if I can support a bit I will gladly do so. I do wonder when we can get...

Palworld becomes the 2nd highest "All-Time Peak" game with concurrent players in Steam's history

Bought it yesterday but I'm somewhat disappointed with the game as is, given that it's early access it's normal. It should have a pause function in offline mode, like it happens in Valheim, I didn't like that we just randomly start the game without any intro or explanation either, even though...

Nintendo has taken down the Link's Awakening fan remake

Why the hell did they even use itch? Uploading stuff like this is not recommened by Itch, it is also on the website's T&C: I'm surprised it lasted long enough to be released (no idea how long it was up on itch, but I've seen stuff swiftly removed that usually involved any type of copyright).
