Now that version 3.1.0 has added online amiibo functionality perhaps something like PKHeX's legality checker could be added as a future feature at some point.

1. File - Decrypt Amiibo which creates a decrypted amiibo file called a .bind file from an amiibo .bin you select.
2. Edit the amiibo however you want.
3.When finished hit File - Save.
4. File - Encrypt Amiibo which reencrypts...
Now that I'm not busy with real life and being sick. As far as I know this thread and the research thread here on gbatemp are the only places actually doing research on the Ultimate Amiibo file format but I could be wrong.
As far as Ultimate not recognizing edited amiibos, what is the file size...
In order to get the Decrypt and Reencrypt options to pop up in the file menu you need to obtain the key_retail.bin file from somewhere, you can't ask for it on gbatemp though because of legal reasons.
I'm still waiting for those SNES games personally, then my $20 will have been somewhat worth it. Super Mario Maker 2 coming out on June 28th is probably going to push the numbers even higher.

Very impressive and those sales should go up with new games like Mario Maker 2 and Pokemon Sword/Shield on the horizon. Speaking of the Snes I hope we get those Snes online games at some point this year...
Happy 30th Anniversary to the Game Boy. Even after all these years I still have my Grape Game Boy Color and my Gen 1 and 2 Pokemon game carts. I really should get the batteries in those changed at some point...
