    That's true, actually... once mods are off, any song past the 20th on a stage gets reverted back to 0. So long as you never launch the game without mods on, though, everything works out.

    If that were the case, wouldn't it be consistently the same? I can launch the same game and get different results. I think I figured it out in any case... it immediately launches if my TV is on, otherwise it'll ask me. >_<

    That's the problem. I say "yes" for using the gamepad, and sometimes it still asks me if I want to use TV or TV and gamepad. Why is it only sometimes?

    How would I replace the file on the Wii U (not vWii) app though? It's installed to NAND, there's no 'nintendont folder' to replace the file in. It's not just a forwarder, because vWii and Wii U have different versions, so replacing the file on the SD card will do nothing.

    Is there any way to use the Wii U Pro controller as player 1? It seems to always set as player 2, even if I elect not to use the gamepad at launch. I understand the complications with this, and I could just play with the gamepad, but it'd be nice to have the option.

    Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60
