Tutorial NAND Dumping 2DS/3DS/3DS XL/N3DS/N3DS XL!

Something similar happened to me (I got reads fine but they didn't always match) and it turned out to be the FrankenSD, I never secured the pins and from use they started to bend a little, resulting in intermittent contact. I simply folded some paper and slid it in between the pins and it has...

Hardware New 3ds xl shuts down after closing and entering sleepmode

I had a similar problem with an old XL, it would switch off if opened past about 90 degrees, usually this means a damaged ribbon cable, after opening it up it shouldn't be too hard to find which one it is. For me it ended up being the speaker ribbon cable which wasn't too hard to fix, best check...

Hardware Snapped in half 3DS. Fixable?

The ribbon cables actually look fine, but you won't know for sure until you put everything together to check, more than likely though the antenna cable is broken. You can get away without fixing it but the WiFi range will be terrible, a new antenna is cheap but a pain to replace. Check iFixit...

Hardware Made a Dock for my Nintendo 3DS and maybe Nintendo Switch

Very nice, I love simple stuff like this! Don't forget the holes for the Switch intakes if you decide to go that way.

Hardware Old 3DS Problem with battery

Yep, an official Nintendo battery should help, if you can't get one directly from Nintendo or want to spend less you can try your luck on eBay or AliExpress (sellers here pull parts from faulty consoles, so they are official but used and generally a fair bit cheaper).

Hardware How do I get Supercard DSTwo (not plus) working on newer firmware?

If even a regular DS game or another flash card is also not working, you can try installing the DS whitelist cia, though really you might as well try it just in case. https://3ds.guide/troubleshooting/ This worked for me a long time ago when installing A9LH happened to break DS functionality...

    Hardware N2DSXL, expect hardware revision.

There's some good and bad things here. The bad being the awkward speaker and rear camera positions, and the good being an easy to access microSD card slot, which is presumably behind the flap next to the game card slot, and the no longer raised touch screen, so maybe we can get away without a...

Tutorial NAND Dumping 2DS/3DS/3DS XL/N3DS/N3DS XL!

I have a few backups from Decrypt9 (NANDmin.bin), are they the same as the NANDs I extracted using a hard-mod? I have a small SSD, though I do keep backups on a USB stick too.

Hacking 3DS NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Weird question, is there an easy way to downgrade to 9.2 with the new method? Or maybe I can just use the hardware downgrade method except use Decrypt9 instead of a hard-mod?

Please also add this alternate CLK for the new 3DS (non-XL), it's a bit easier to solder. https://gbatemp.net/threads/new-3ds-non-xl-clk-the-quest.383128/

Tutorial NAND Dumping 2DS/3DS/3DS XL/N3DS/N3DS XL!

Did another o3DS today, and a n3DSXL a couple of days ago so now I have done them all :) For me now in terms of hardest to do: o3DS > n3DS > n3DSXL > 2DS > o3DSXL. My 2nd o3DS wasn't that bad really, the only more annoying than usual parts are the double taped SD reader and the teeny tiny CLK...

Tutorial NAND Dumping 2DS/3DS/3DS XL/N3DS/N3DS XL!

I was using the alternate CLK point before, changed to the regular one, same issue. The wires are already as short as they can be, the Anker reader has been fine with every other model, I'm stumped! Edit: Re-soldered all the points, works now! No idea what I did wrong, definitely an...

Tutorial NAND Dumping 2DS/3DS/3DS XL/N3DS/N3DS XL!

Yep, it's not my first mod :) Could it be my soldering? It's weird because I thought that if there were issues I wouldn't even be able to read it.

Tutorial Full Stock to arm9loaderhax CFW Guide - Completely Redesigned

Am I crazy or was there a quicker way to do new 3DS consoles before? I think it was a shortened method to get the otp and install al9h, was it removed because it was unstable or something?

Tutorial NAND Dumping 2DS/3DS/3DS XL/N3DS/N3DS XL!

Just did a n3DS, no issues except my home button wasn't working, opened it up and lightly pushed down the top of all of the friction fit ribbon cables a few times, works now. For me in terms of hardest to do: o3DS > n3DS > 2DS > o3DSXL. I assume the n3DSXL is very similar to the n3DS.

Did you mix up the model numbers? The AR200 is the one I have and so far it has worked with the o3DS, o3DSXL and 2DS.

Tutorial NAND Dumping 2DS/3DS/3DS XL/N3DS/N3DS XL!

I have successfully done two 2DS and one 3DSXL console, pretty much follow the guide to the letter and be as careful as you possibly can. The poster above is right about disassembling the console, watch out for those ribbon cable connectors that don't actually pop open. Use weak iron, mine is...

Tutorial NAND Dumping 2DS/3DS/3DS XL/N3DS/N3DS XL!

Those pads are simply those points on the PCB you are soldering the wires to, other than being super careful, using really fine wires also minimises any stress you put on them. Lifting them is literal, meaning that they are now off of the PCB, CMD is the name of one of those points.
