    Same issue happened to me, at the end the only solution i could find was to not update, just stay in 9.2 and you'll be fine.

    That's what i find out, I tried in 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 4.2.2, and got no luck with them. So the easiest solution is to get an old android gingerbread phone.

    What you need is to get a phone that is rooted and that uses android 2.3 Gingerbread and modify the file /data/nvmac.info, otherwise you wont get it working.

    Thank you for your help; but there is no such file in my phone. In the folder /etc/wifi/ are the files bcmdhd.cal and wpa_supplicant.conf. And i have tried to find the file NVRAM.txt with no luck :(

    Yes of course I did it; but got no luck with it. I think it is a problem with versions <4.2.1; I was able to activate tether activating the option WiFi-Driver Reload #1; but it seems that it isn't spoofing the mac address 'cause I've been waiting for 20 mins and got no street pass yet.

    In which android version are you on? Which ROM? and what phone do you have? I have a Gnex maguro with Rootbox 4.2.2 and I haven't been able to make it work :s

    Nope, if you check the official site there is nothing yet, neither the firmware update nor a new kernel, actually i have ask to one of their assistants and they told me that the new kernel was made by them and its only temporary while the official site release something.
