Cookies as a concept are an added feature, they should never decide whether you can see a page or not, data collection may be important for companies but come the fuck on already with this shit!
Not exactly, sites for the most part never had "mandatory" cookies, they just had cookies that if blocked the page still worked perfectly fine, only without tracking. Now, sites like the ones I was talking about FORCE cookies on you, GDPR requirement states that users must be informed that cookies will be used, but ALSO allow the option to block ALL cookies. Too bad not all sites comply
Only with added plugins/programs though, some sites don't let you load the page until you accept the cookies, which is what pissed me off this time! After I'm done with a site I instantly go and delete all site data, but it's a pain, wish all sites did the right thing and let you decline cookies while still working properly.
Not really, before setting browsers to decline all cookies was possible and sites still worked with ALL cookies blocked, while now you HAVE to allow at least some cookies for certain pages to even load:/
Ah, that I wasn't aware of. I guess it's because the prompt will keep appearing unless the cookie that tells it to GTFO is saved, eh?
I've found you can just block the prompt with an ad blocker and the page will work fine, which is rather cool, since it means that you can browse the site without all the useless crap they require you to agree to have enabled.
