  • I miss the wildly different ports games got on different platforms 10+ years ago. It made for different experiences that were worth having.

I agree, a great example was the tie in games for the movie Eragon (really underrated, both the movie and the games). The PC and home console versions had you go through the story as Eragon (protagonist), but with it changing every now and then to control some other stuff or dragon chases, while the PSP version went through the story as Sapphira (the dragon) mainly instead.

These things were really nice, too bad now they always try to be as similar and generic as possible...

I loved how LEGO Island 2 was completely different on GBA. Oh, and I've always wanted to try the Xbox version of Wall-E. I own the PC version physically and from what I've seen, the Xbox version was a 3D puzzle platformer, just like the PC version but with different mechanics and levels.
Like, it feels that for every mega hit like Shovel Knight, there are 3 completely ignored masterpieces like Iconoclasts. It's incredibly sad

Really getting into indie games is realizing that there are a LOT MORE incredibly good and polished titles besides the ones that get popular
I never thought I'd go back to my edgy early-20s days of saying indie gaming is the best and AAA gaming is trash, and yet here we are.
It's been 72 hours and part of me still hasn't accepted that TotalBiscuit is really gone. Like, I'll suddenly remember and get said again :(
Hay, I would like to help getting the "3ds Essentials" pages up to date, what can I do to help?

I'll probably will make a new thread with a link to the old one and have a mod lock it, since people will more likely flock to a new thread then one that keep getting a new post every new month despite being dead. I haven't checked it out yet but on the other thread I made there was an option to add up to 5 others to edit the OP so hopefully I can get some people added and keep it from going dead.

I think it would be better to keep the old thread, since that's where all the votes were tallied, unless you want to set the counter back to zero. Sounds like a good idea, though. I'd check with a mod to see what the best decision is.

Well that's why I was going to have a link to the old thread, complete with a count the old one provides for the next person who is counting all the votes don't have to do those over again like me and at least one other person has.
It's crazy how much I love Hyrule Warriors, considering how much I hated it when it came out. Amazing what second chances will do.

I've not played it myself, but what made you change your mind? Did a patch fix all or most of the problems you had with it?

Basically I was meh on it for 3 levels, then got a checkpoint that "broke" the level for me, requiring a restart. I was so mad that I stopped playing for months.

Picked it up again months later, and I don't know, I ended up really liking it. I'm much more into action games and spectacle fighters now, so that probably helped. Loving the port on 3DS, too.
So I have a Wii, and a PS3 with no move controller. Are the motion controls in No More Heroes really worth the lower resolution on Wii?

(In case you can't tell, I'm trying to decide whether to get No More Heroes on the Wii, or the Heroes Paradise port on PS3, despite not having a move controller for it. Motion controls versus HD, if you will.)

Isn't No More Heroes before wii motion+? motion controls would be so good then, eh?

Not necessarily. I've played motion control games without motion plus that worked fine.

Mainly I'm looking for someone who has experience with the Wii version, who can tell me whether the motion controls actually have anything to them, vs just waggling them at the TV.
I'm actually looking for a backlit SP as well. Forget eBay. Everyone on there thinks they are gold plated. If I ever decide to part with my Twilight Princess I will let you know. Keep an eyeout for Super Mario Allstars wii fir me. That one fetches a pretty penny on eBay too. I swear some of those idiots are on crack.

(It's pearl blue, btw... not that it matters much, since the shell needs to be replaced)

I bought a new black case and red screen cover with red buttons. In fact I bought a kit to light the start and select buttons red and a aftermarket button board so I won't have to destroy the original GB board by cutting it in half. All I need now is a donor backlit SP to donate it's upper board, screen, charging port, and rechargeable battery. It is really gonna be a sweet GB!

Cool stuff. I sent you a PM to continue this further.
Thank God for Smash 3DS and Project M 3.5. Being unable to afford Smash U yet would be killer otherwise. </3
Shantae 3 and Bayonetta 2 NEED to come out... this past few months have been so stressful, especially the last month.
Steel thy shovel... especially if you want to go after all 45 of those feats. Some of them are going to take me a LONG time...
Is anyone else rocking Super Smash Bros.: Project M? It's practically the only Smash I play, now.
