Something came in flying through the balcony, I try to hit it with my hand before it was fully in through the door, cable got stuck at the bottom of the dest and the ENTIRE case mask got pulled out, it was that bad, thankfully desktops have multiple slots for channels (mine is 8 in the I/O and 2 in front), so I still have sound, headphone jack is bent though badly...

Only problem is that I can't fix the front ones because my soldering iron sorta isn't safe to use anymore (heat resistor broke so it overheats to ridiculous degrees, can hit 600+°C after just a minute) and without the front slots I can't lay in bed and still pay attention to my screen for a matter of 15cm... For reference, my cable is 3m.

Time to get a wireless headset then.

Never, the hit in quality and latency are too serious considering I do sound editing fairly often or that I make my own music, even if it's a tiny difference.

If you're worried about that, you can get headsets that aren't based on Bluetooth. They should have much higher sound quality and lower latency.

I could, but non-bluetooth wireless headsets are expensive AF, here at least:/ Cheapest one I find is almost 100€ with still subpar quality and I can't afford that at this time even, let alone actually good headsets. The one I got now works fine still, jack may be bent, but sound quality is exactly the same and I could just replace the jack if it gets worse, cheaper than a new headset

Yeah they are not cheap. But you don't want to go cheap if you do a lot of audio editing.

Exactly, but I already have a headset that works just fine even after such an accident without any kind of quality issues, so why would I switch headsets over a bent jack if it's working perfectly right? My main issue is no longer being able to use the front panel connectors though, not the bent jack, I like laying in bed sometimes while doing stuff on my PC and now I can't

Actually the laying in bed part was why I suggested a wireless one. But I guess you could just get an extension cable, they are pretty cheap. Might be an idea to tie it with twist ties or some velcro so it's not way too long when you're at your desk since the cable length seems to be partially to blame for what happened.

It's just 15cm more and I THINK I still have the extension cable from the Razer headset I had before (which is the only thing about that headset that ever worked right) and it's about 30cm, so I'm looking for that now... And yes, it's the cable lenght being too long, but oh well, first accident I've had because of such thing in over a decade, so no big deal, just sad my front panel's busted
