Not really, plenty of headphones like the ones I'm using have nice thick wires that never get tangled. For example, the ones I'm using now have the kind of cable that's got a nice cloth over it, making so it can't get tangled and the cable is 2+ meters long, so no need for wireless either.
I had to replace my headset after the wire went to shit, luckily I got a full refund. Went for wired over-ear BT headphones instead with a removable cable, and a VModa BoomPro mic to go with it. I feel like I made the right choice and now I don't have to worry so much about the cable breaking anymore since it's easily replaceable.
It's life's law that headphone cables are just barely long enough. Standing up or leaning back will cause damage. Also, who the FUCK puts the headphone connector on the RIGHT (wrong) side on the laptop?! Yay for broken cables and connectors!
I always get headphones with 2+m of cable, which is just right for me if I need to reach for something from where I'm sitting, but I know the pain of short cables... As for the jack location, I prefer the at the bottom really for laptops, that way, even if you move back and the cable is pulled, the jack isn't damage most of the time. I've even had a jack break inside a laptop once...
Sadly I don't have any freedom with headphone cables... if it's too long my chair eats it, and if it's too short I break the connector in the laptop and I have to resolder the plug inside my headphones... and ofc also have to buy a new cable, because they break after 3months.
I wish there was a magnetic connector so I wouldn't break it inside the laptop x.x
As for wireless headphones, there is too much crap in the air for good audio quality, and the latency is unacceptable for me to work with. Besides, all of the buttons broke off in my headphones due to resoldering the connector so many times, so I don't even have the option anymore :C
