It is that I saw something and it was completely hypocritical
E

Doesn't have to do with Nocto

Ok please explain EthanAddict
E
EthanAddict
Yet, when someone expects you to be "stereotypical"(which wasn't his point) you get offended
"And know what I am sorry I dont fall into line and act the way the predominantly male community on here expects a woman to act not all woman are the same as all men are not the same."
AmandaRose

Ok so how was that hypocritical on my part when i pulled someone up for using an offensive word. Not having a go at you genuinely interested in case i did something wrong
E
EthanAddict
No, you made it sound as if he shouldn't use the word because you deem it inappropriate and say so

I don't have a clue about what happened here and I don't particularly care but the attitude of "Its just words on the internet, just dont read them lolol" (Not a direct quote, just a generalization of an attitude) is quite honestly stupid.
Seriel
Seriel
While it's true that something on the internet shouldn't be taken so seriously that it affects your personal life, you don't know everyone and their problems and its still a shitty excuse to say toxic stuff on the web.
Seriel
Seriel
I'm not expecting you to pander to everything you're told not to say, but if you offend someone at least apologize and move on, continuing to be aggressive while using "Its just the internet" as an excuse is disgusting.

Look i am sorry that I expressed my feelings and yes sometimes im not perfect and yes sometimes I forget this site is international and i forget that words that are illegal to use in my country are not illegal to use elsewhere I never claimed to be perfect.
Seriel
Seriel
And if I can take a direct quote this time, "seriously, I have heard worse insults." is another stupid justification that serves no real purpose, you're essentially diminishing the other persons issues because you've been through worse. What the fuck kind of logic is that.
Seriel
Seriel
Oh, oh and I've got one more! I've been throwing this link around lately, whoever was talking about free speech you might wanna give this a read: https://xkcd.com/1357/
E
EthanAddict
I am not telling that you should use offensive words
But the attitude "u offended me u r bigot" that the Internet is filled with is, quite frankly, stupid too
If you don't like what people say on the Internet, don't go on the Internet, or just learn to live with different opinions? idk
Seriel
Seriel
Different opinions are fine, offending people and failing to realize you just made a mistake is not. You are essentially justifying what is basically offensive language to someone, just because you think they should just not use the internet. How about humans learn to respect one another and then this won't be a problem?
AmandaRose
AmandaRose
Thank you Seriel
E
EthanAddict
Choosing to use offensive words is opinion too
And I never tried to insult or justify anyone for offending anyone. I just find complaining about words like "fag" stupid, I mean, he didn't insult you

I get your point, but still, if someone doesn't like offensive language, instead of making it a topic, just don't care altogether?
Seriel
Seriel
Humans are not designed to simply turn off their ability to care, certain words hurt us harder than we expect and we feel the need to lash out because of it. I'm not saying its bad to call someone that word, I just think if you are then told that person found it offensive, you should at the very least apologize, since what is a joke to you may well offend someone else.
Seriel
Seriel
We all make mistakes and bad decisions, its how we bounce back from them which determines who we are.
Seriel
Seriel
Regarding "he didn't insult you", he probably didn't intend to but sometimes words you don't expect to have an impact do, and its up to you to be mature enough to realize that afterwards and not dismiss it as someone getting annoyed at everything, since not everyone finds the same things funny or offensive, even within the same cultures.
