CFW is being announced for DSi and everyone is mass buying DSis.
There's literally nothing you can't do on a 3DS that you can on a DSi.
Not to mention the TWL NAND on the 3DS holds more DSi games then the TWL NAND on the DSi itself.
I bet that 90% of these people will use it for a week before never touching their DSi ever again.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that installing pirated DSiware is a hell of a lot easier on 3DS then DSi ;')

There's literally nothing to gain except for the homebrew enthusiasts and devs to easily create things.
3DS is a much more powerful platform anyway for emu's and homebrew...
