At first it was just a few drops and when I dried them and put them in the sun (I was out at the time). They booted fine. Switched them off put them back in the pocket and in the bag...

then checked on them an hour or so later. And...the back of the 3ds standard size was wet to the touch and there was a layer of water on my 3ds XL on the L and R buttons and the cartridge slot. I didn't dare to try switching them on this time. Went back home. Bought rice on the way. Put the 3ds coated in rice in a large dish. And I am waiting...And hoping for the best...

Didn't this happen yesterday?

Yes...I heard it's better to leave them switched off for 2-3 days. So I haven't tried to switch them on since yesterday afternoon...

They are still in rice and in that large dish...

Where do you hear such things?

Well i guess, if you wanna make sure is okay, why not turn it on?

And if it short circuits because there's water left in there? Wouldn't i loose 100euros? 200 if i try with the other one and the same happens...

I guess I could always buy a 2ds for cheap to replace one of those or update to a N3ds but...the 3ds Xl has all my data since 2011...

That is a long time to have a 3ds :3

Well it's the data from the standard 3ds I system transfered there...Yes I have that one since November 2011...while I bought the XL I system transfered to in December 2015...

So how will you know if it works if you don't try? Are you just not gonna play it anymore so you don't find out? It doesn't take that long for water to dry and evaporare.

I thought about trying tomorrow...letting dry one night more to be sure...

Okay then, is that why you can't sleep, i thought before you couldn't sleep cause you install a9lh on the 3ds.

That was before, because I was stressed (afraid of bricking), and then once I finished because I was super excited (because it went well and it was so cool). Now I'm afraid of clicking on the power button of my 3dses because I'm afraid of short circuits...

What you could have done was least open the system and cleaned with cloth and let the battery sit out in the sun for few hours and then it would probably been done faster than buying rice and sitting it in there.
