They say it's right around or just below a 980. I dunno about you, but I would just go for the 1070, going for a "980" is not good for the future, unless you like minecraft.

I don't really plan on making a high-end gaming PC for now. I just plan on something that could last for one year and maybe a few months and then I'll build a proper rig

Neat, what CPU would you go for? Did you know very very recently, AMD's Zen CPUdetails have been released? That also could be cheap and good.
