Fun fact: the only reason Brave exists is because Brendan Eich was kicked out of Mozilla for supporting a constitutional amendment in California to block gay marriage.

I'm not saying you should care about that, but I've noticed that a lot of the conversation around this browser online no longer mentions this detail, and I feel like it should maybe be brought up more often, especially since not everyone knows it.

@diggeloid
so what I'm hearing is that it loops around right to the start of the post saying all browsers suck

If all browsers suck, why would you talk others into using any particular one when according to you, they all suck anyway? Personally, performance matters the least to me, unless the browser is exceptionally slow (more than noticeably) at some task. Firefox(-based) still fits the bill in that regard.

@diggeloid To my knowledge, neither browser, as in, the software, has any preferential treatment over its users, so indeed, I don't see a reason to talk about it. My opinion is that developers shouldn't be fired based on politics alone, but ultimately, both projects still function.

@lightwo I don't agree it shouldn't be talked about, as people should be able to make informed product decisions, regardless of politics. There's no good reason to deny people that.
