errr, so just rolled a new Windows 8.1 VM and copied Deltarune across and it works fine what error are you getting ?

x64, and chapters 3 and 4 are the ones I wanna play since I've already beaten chapters 1 and 2 that released before Windows 8.1's EOL

It sounds like you're missing some sort of dependency. Now, do you mean your PC doesn't support DirectX 12, or it's just not installed? If it's the former, then you're SOL. If it's the latter, then just install it

Probably bc you were using a virtual machine on Windows 10, instead of an actual Windows 8.1 PC

Nope, a VM will only run off what's installed and has the same limitations as the OS ( and I'm running Windows 11 haha I seem to be the only one who likes it :/ tho I did had to develop windows chainsaw to cut out the crap )

I know that problem well. When we got our first PC at the beginning of the 1990s my father disallowed pretty much everything and did not use the PC himself.

Official requirements sometimes aren't true. Again, I can't try myself because Deltarune is insanely expensive and supporting Steam is a big no-no.

Well, the thing is, I had (and still have) absolutely no intention of ever playing Deltarune, so either way, they lost nothing from me; it was downloaded purely for testing
