Although I am not Christian, I am religious and I firmly respect those who still practice a religious path (lived, not preached!). That image, like others that ridicule what is sacred, offends those who still believe that man is not a simple sack of skin containing flesh, bones and shit but has a higher and nobler purpose, which is not the petty selfish pursuit of pleasure.

Even Monty Python refrained from showing the explicit violence of crucifixion (they considered it and found it inappropriate) – not even talking about a child(ish) character. Life of Brian is an ingenious parody exposing a lot of weaknesses in common religion. A lot of thought went into that movie. A lot more than into rubbish memes.
