Weird, I had the exact opposite experience, albeit I only play older-ish games.
Hell, even Android (I have 11, though my 7.1 doesn't seem to yet) NATIVELY supports the DS4, and all features work, INCLUDING THE TOUCHPAD, AND MULTITOUCH GESTURES, WTF

Meanwhile DS5, some games don't even recognize it, even though it shows up as a generic USB game controller???

DS5 form factor is nice though. Really comfortable, albeit perhaps a bit too hefty.
DS4 feels like a cheap toy in comparison.

The stick layout on the PS controllers is awful tho

I still prefer my old trusty DS2. Still my most favorite controller for multiple reasons.

Sure, Xbox/Switch controller may have more ergonomics with their funky assymmetric stick layout, but personally I have no issues with the two sticks being next to eachother.

Wiiu pro controller has the best ergonomics honestly

They are pretty impossible to find though.
Also, I bet that they need some fragile driver to connect to PC :P

But I heard that they have Gamecube sticks, and WiiU buttons, both of which are really good?

stick layout so heavily depends on the type of game you're playing that i don't think a perfect one can exist

wii u pro is really comfy but also a bit of a compatibility hell sadly (and the rumble has ED), battery life is absolutely insane though

I really enjoy how you can have switch joycons seperate, it's so much more comfortable and doesn't give me shoulder issues long term

The issue though is that it's the switch joycons
