I block Windows Updates for good reasons because I saw Microsoft release out some most updates for Windows 11 are unstable and bugs that would cause computers to crashing, hang up, freeze, reboot after reboot loop problems and go on...
I'm stay on Windows 11 version 23H2 is good enough for now. I have to watch out for many Windows update with different KBXXXXXXXX something like that. Check which updates are bad or good. Everyone have to be careful which to install some Windows updates.
About Linux, I do love Linux Mint a lot because too easy and just right for me to pick up right one. I would move in Linux anytime soon when Windows operating system become much worst later in near future then I will force to move on it.
I never interest in copilot / AI. I would delete it or disabled them. Means if people don't have NPU have to wait for Windows 11 version 24H2 in November without copilot / AI. I stick with old school way without copilot / AI since Windows XP to Windows 7.
Windows is a privacy nightmare since eternity. With each new anti-feature people proclaim Windows has reached the bottom, but most simply accept whatever comes after initial protest.
Then come in the "can be disabled, so no problem" clowns and all discussions go apeshit.
Disabling security updates on a productive system doesn't sound too safe and therefore also not very privacy friendly.
I used program name is Windows Update Blocker v1.8. I don't have to worry about pause and resume many times. I scared about bad updates would mess my PC up.
I heard Microsoft said Windows 11 will have first Service Pack 1 come anytime. I think maybe 2025 or 2026. I will replace OS and reinstall drivers than many, many Windows Updates (take hours) into just 15 - 30 minutes to finish.
