They used to be free. Condescending people threw them out in masses with the arrival of somewhat affordable plasma and LCD TVs.
If I have had the storage it would have been easy to get hundreds(!!) of CRTs without paying a penny. Maybe even get money for helping taking the things out.

I've only two working CRT TVs left. :(

Sadly these things are old and prone to failure by now. This will make them valuable in refurbished condition (work!).
I really wish I had a good condition Loewe Aconda 93102 ZW. Try carrying that thing!

That looks massive and uncomfortable even to move to one table to another in the same room.
But being widescreen looks cool af.

I actually threw away my CRTs around 7 years ago the last one. I never had a nice TV set so it was always some cheapo brand TV. I actually don't miss those days since I remember carrying it and it's a dreaded memory tbh.

I actually don't mind playing retro stuff on my modern OLED panel, and even more seeing that they are charging for some whatever models even $350.00 USD.

Depends on where you live. You can still get them for free in most reasonably populated places in the US, at least. Just check Facebook Marketplace.

Yes, that's expensive. I can get decent CRTs in the Tianguis for like, 3 or 4 USD.
LG, SAMSUNG, SONY, PHILLIPS... even Computer CRTs with the typical VGA are cheap here.

Finding them is a different matter. But when I do find them they're at most 10 USD.

Also assuming the CRT doesn't has any picture problem that's still expensive.

Cap Kits are not cheap and by this point in time almost all surviving CRTs probably needs a complete Capacitor replacement kit.

@JuanMena, I was just checking on Facebook Marketplace, and they're around $10.00 on average. I've not seen CRTs on any tianguis in the last, maybe 3 years.

@ChaosEternal, tbh that's sounds cool. Your advice about Marketplace was helpful.

Huh. I may ask a friend that's from Constitución to show me those tianguis. Sounds cool.
