Just do an animated movie, a la LEGO Movie - since Minecraft is pretty akin to LEGO as it is.
It's so jarring, seeing live-action characters in an animated blocky environment. They really should've looked at the numerous Minecraft animated videos on YouTube, and done a billion-dollar-budget version of those.
