Once I have children, I'd they were to misbehave with the consoles that I have for them, I would just confiscate them and put it in a good hiding place for them to not know where it is, and even if they do manage to find it, they'll just get physically punished for it.

No parent should go breaking things just becsuse their child isn't doing what they're doing becsuse they're blind to know that if they were to try repairing it, it would be next to impossible, and if they were to make the even dumber mistake of contacting the company that's in charge of the console, they can't do anything about it lmfao

Confiscate, not break - I share the same view. Confiscated for the length of the punishment, so the device can be safely returned after the time's up. Breaking something would outrage the child and make them not trust you, not want to listen to you, make them hate you - not good.

Exactly. It's much more of an aggressive way of punishment too.

Would it be a good punishment to rip your child's teddy bear apart? To tear down their posters, snap their action figures/dolls? Exact same concept goes to gaming devices, except the devices are far more expensive for you as well.
