There is no evidence that there is any existence after death, the people you are referring to are still alive. Once electrical activity ceases as far as we know it's over. Of course we can imagine but until there is any evidence I will go on viewing the world this way. For the same reason I do not think there are polar bears on Mars for example.

Tsk, typical american pragmatism,cynicism, materialism. Real= tangible =useful. There will never be scientific evidence on this: the only adequate evidence is that of intuition and feeling. There is a mental function (self-awareness) that existed before birth and will remain after death: How to find out? Continue mindfullness!

Sure. Friendly advice: keep a mind always open to new and unexpected, not fixated on dogma and stored and taken-for-granted concepts. Even today's science can become a bias for tomorrow: the atom was thought to be ultimate reality, then quantum physics turned everything upside down!

Of course, I will not make a big deal out of it. But later you will find that if you rely on something greater wholeheartedly, making yourself humble and open to others, the end result will lose importance, and everything will be accepted.

Scientific theories provide criteria to test them. They try to create a thought model of the world, try to accurately describe laws of nature/physics. The theories by Isaac Newton for example make predictions how gravitation works. One can monitor planets with a telescope and try to predict movement on basis of that theory. If what can be seen…

Our current physics theories (Quantum, Relativity) are pretty good, but we already know they are incomplete (same for the Standard Model of particle physics).
If you want to turn our “ultimate reality” upside down once again, you have to come up with a model/theory surpassing the current ones – with test criteria or verifiable predictions.
Scientists must not be dogmatic.
