Well... you won't be able to emulate a SNES reliably with an OLD 3DS.
You better get a New 3DS or a later revision.
Old 3DS are very underpowered to emulate the SNES.

My O3Ds died on 2018 and I don't know if there are any new methods to install a CFW easily.

But since New 3DS and later revisions had SNES Virtual Console, there's probably methods to inject roms into official Virtual Console files.

In my opinion you should get an Android phone with USB or Bluetooth controller.
Much easier, cheaper and you won't regret spending money on an underpowered console who's hinge will inevitably break no matter how good you take care of it.

Trust me... a dedicated Android phone (with Android 5.0 or above) will be better.

But if you still want a 3DS take a dive to the 3DS forum. Usually important and new info is Sticky-ed to the top.

If you want a hacked Nintendo handheld product to reliably play n64 on unfortunately switch is your only option

Wii/wiiu are good options for home console

My god, didn't noticed that you also want N64.

A PSP will be able to do all you want. It's portable, it's cheap I think...
Get that.

I already have a PSP 3004. There the SNES games run great, the n64 ones don't all work. Sadly the screen is too small, and I have to waste time connecting it to the TV. Besides, I aesthetically prefer DS/3DS consoles.
