Minecraft account, Mojang account, Microsoft account.
Pretty sure the Mojang account requirement was pre-Microsoft.
At least with the Mojang account you had account recovery option, so I see it as a win from the consumer's point. They wanted to unify the login process for all games, that's why you had to migrate from Minecraft account to Mojang account.
As for the Microsoft account... you might as well consider the price you paid for Minecraft gone, and start switching to hacked launchers to prepare for the eventual random Microsoft account ban which happens for no reason.
Also get ready to buy a burner SIM card for when you're forced to use a phone number to access your account - if you're (un)lucky.
i mean i don't care too much, since i already had a ms account(i need it for school) and even if i did care, i only really play minecraft when my friends wanna do bedwars or something, it wouldn't be much of a loss in my life
Me neither, truthfully; I still like to watch Xisumavoid's snapshot videos, but as for the game itself....eeeeh. I'm not the creative type, and combat was ruined way back in 1.9, so I rarely have any motivation to actually play.
