Because that fictional entity logically and physically cannot exist...? He only exists in a bunch of myths written by extremely primitive people millennia ago; the fact those ancient myths STILL have cultural relevance, importance and influence is downright appalling.

That fictional entity promotes stoning people for supposed 'crimes' like being gay or being a disobedient child. Promotes the idea of a man keeping a woman he raped as a wife, with the only punishment being monetary exchange. Promotes genocide and keeping virgin girls as prizes. You gonna support this guy?

Not to mention the time he supposedly DROWNED EVERYONE except for a few individuals, or summoned plagues to Egypt, or almost made a guy sacrifice his son. Reeeal swell guy. Oh, and he's beaten by iron chariots; so much for omnipotence...omniscience? Can't find people when they hide from him. Huh.

you don't understand that this is all and has always been facetious sarcasm, and that somehow makes it more amusing :3

Wow, there's a lot of errors in those statements. Read the Bible much?

God does exist, and he's not an angry selfish deity like you say. He sacrificed himself for our sins. We don't have to understand why God does what he does, just trust what he does is right for us.

Even if you don't believe in God, I encourage you guys to dig deeper. I don't believe in Norse mythology, but I am fascinated by it. Just an example; nothing more.

People might try to sugar coat what God is, but I'm not going to. You're right, following God is harsh. It's one of the hardest things to try and stick to. People screw up and fall flat on their faces. That doesn't mean God's going to come down from heaven and pick you up out of the dirt every time you fall - it's part of the learning process.

Also, bad things happen not because of God, but because we fell from God. That may not make much sense to someone who doesn't believe, but it's true. If you treated a friend poorly, who would be at fault - you or your friend? What if a friend treated you poorly? If the answer is your friend in both scenarios, then I think you may have some issues there.

We often think that God is a punisher. He's going to slam the ban hammer on you, because that's what people do. However, God lives outside of human reasoning. He created all of us, and he wants us all to be with him. True, he does not excuse sin, but... then again, yes he does - through Jesus Christ!

But it is ONLY through Jesus that we can be free of sin, not by any other means, yet the gift of Grace is available to everyone.

We also tend to believe that God is evil and cruel because death happens in this world - "Why would he do this?" sort of thing. Yet, this is a corrupt world, and God wants us to be away from corruption. That's why there's a Heaven, and that's why for those who accept Grace, God will give new incorruptible bodies to those who shed these corruptible forms.

Sounds fantastic? So do the ideas of quantum physics, alien life forms, dark matter, bigfoot, and other conspiracies. Even atheists read the Bible, but what's it gonna take for you to believe?

I'm not an atheist :3

There is a large span between being an atheist and believing in the lies of the church and bible :3

I have seen no evidence to suggest that any kind of god exists, so I have no reason to believe in any. Though it doesn't really bother me if someone else does, as long as they don't do anything bad because of it.

I'm not sure it can be proven if he exists or not, but even if he does, it does in some way make sense to live as if he doesn't, at least if he never speaks to you personally, rather than gullibly following a power and money hungry elite only interested in their own gain :3
But of course you know all this :3

"Because that fictional entity logically and physically cannot exist"

Not really true. I don't believe in God personally, but it's not like it's proven he doesn't and can't exist. I think it just seems unlikely given what we know about the world.
