Probably 5 or 6 here though I do love all the N64 ones as well. 8 was the last good Mario Party, before they fucked it all up. Though the "new" one looks good too. They can't make new ones good anymore, but reusing content from older games that people already liked is fine I guess. I know some of my all time favorite stages are in there, so I'm not complaining.

What I didn't like about 8 is that motion controls were shoehorned into every minigame possible even when it didn't make any sense and buttons would've been better. What is better about holding the Wiimote like a joystick and tilting?

That's not a good use of motion controls. It's barely any different from just using the buttons, only less precise. I know the Wii was all about the motion controls but at least make good use of it.

Yea I just played it for like 2 hours- there’s pointer minigames I literally couldn’t win because the wiimote wasn’t fast or precise enough to match the harder CPUs. I wish it at least used the nunchuck sometimes or buttons more often, but it doesn’t, and that slightly hurts the experience for me… even when I have a big nostalgia factor in this one.
