Sorry to intrude. Although they seem to help in the immediate term, those medications are addictive. Better would be to go to the source of your problem. I understand that not everyone is willing to do that. I hope I haven't offended you.
@Nikokaro It depends on which. There are antidepressants with axiolytic effects. Those aren't considered to be (physically) addictive. Benzodiazepine are highly addictive and will backfire big time if overused.
That said, as much as I would like to live without any drugs, taking them with all their side effects can be the lesser of two evils. "No drugs" can mean unnecessary suffering. It depends on the situation.
Congrats, I should honestly push to get anti-anxiety meds. My hormones have helped a lot with anxiety and depression but I could use a little more help
@KleinesSinchen, anxiety is not really a disease: it's a signal our body gives us that something is wrong, psychologically. You missed the point of my speech: face the problems, not avoid them. Look reality in the face, don't hide. Walking on our own two feet, without psychological crutches.
It can be done and it must be done. I speak from direct experience.
@Lilith Valentine, yours is a special, separate case. I understand that you don't like me, and you go against everything I say, but by saying so you are certainly not doing her any good.
