Uplay used to be pretty solid way back in the day without being really intrusive and offering some nice stuff like the ability to get 20-40% off on any game you want if you've played enough other games on there or TONS of GOOD freebies like all Raymans/FarCry/Beyond Good and Evil/etc.. Origin is a fair bit worse than Uplay used to be, bad but not awful.
@ThoD Uplay used to be solid indeed. Even more so for Humble bundle before IGN bought them. To me, EA would be better off putting FIFA & Madden to rest and becoming Origin inc.; a company that hosts Origin(that is if EA doesn't keel over from the official investigations into lootboxes & the like as well as FIFA being basically the same since 2015).
Let's be honest, FIFA, Madden and all yearly sports games (EA's PES/Football Manager/NBA Live and also 2K along with some lesser known stuff from other companies) should have never been a thing, it's all stuff that can be changed in a tiny patch (besides adding 1-2 tricks and changing the rosters the games are identical).
