Is this based on the game show? I'm confused, the prize on the show ranged from $10,000 to $100,000 during its years on the air, but it was never a million.

yes this is based on the game show. you are correct that the prize was never 1 million. they just bumped it up to keep pace with inflation. who wants to win $10,000 now a days. it'd be nice but after taxes you'd be lucky to have enough money for a down payment on a car. here's some info on the origins of the game show.

Where the hell do you live? Because in most of the US $10k winnings, even after taxes, is a good sum of change. After taxes you would end up with, roughly, 7k-8k (depending on where you live. Some places have no tax at all (California, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and Washington) but beware putting it in the bank xD) In other words, 20 to 30 percent of your winnings are owed to the state and federal government. (even tho that can get up to 45 percent depending on where you live, but the norm is usually 20 to 30 percent) That's a couple new 3D and/or HD Tvs or a few High End PCs or bill money for a few months or vacation money.... the list can go on and on. As for what you said, the average car costs 16-20k. As little as 2k down on a car knocks the monthly payments down quite a bit (as long as you dont have jacked up credit), let alone putting down 7-8k on a 16-20k vehicle. Hell, damn near, no one would turn down the chance to win $7-8k. Even if you are making $100k a year, an extra $7-8k is $7-8k that you didn't have to work for. And what makes those winnings even more alluring is the fact you have to put little to no money in.

Just look at the idiots that go thru hell and hot water in the hopes of winning money that will, most likely, only last them a few months or less (Survivor, Fear Factor, Amazing Race...ect And, most of the time, those participants have 6 figure incomes (or close to it) waiting for them when they get back. (LoL, because the average person doesnt have time or financially stable enough to take THAT much time off work in the hopes of winning $80-250k, depending on the show. Especially when their chances of winner are a LONG shot). OH and dont even get me started on stupid ass 1:1000000 chanced winning shows like American Idol.

But on another note: I have never seen the point in console/pc games based off game or reality tv shows (Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Family Fued, The Price Is Right...ect). Its not like you actually win anything and their novelty wears out in, as little as, a few days. Then the game just collects dust or, in the case of downloaded games, ends up just taking up space on your HDD (or you waste a DVD+(-)r) Just seems pointless in the end. You would think in these times that there would be console online multiplayer versions of the actual games where you could have a chance to win ACTUAL prizes and money.

I'm getting an weird issue where it only shows the top 1/2 of the screen, except on the sony and ludia videos. bottom half either shows green, or last frame of the previous video. very odd. never had this issue with any of the ludia games before.
