No longer do I need to have a physical copy at all times which go for lots of money or follow a tacky workaround by constructing a custom ISO for the purpose of using CTGP Revolution. This sounds excellent, I should try it out sometime. :grog:

This is great stuff! Mods are finally more accessible. Really didn't like having to patch ROMs for every single mod and blow up the storage with all that unnecessary data.

Don't think so... At least not the latest mainline releases. CTGP-R has its own launcher nowadays and uses the disc requirement as an anti-cheat/DRM measure. If someone were to bypass that (it wouldn't be trivial, AFAIK the launcher isn't open source), it would probably be a game of whack-a-mole with mandatory updates.

You can play it without a disc using a modded .wbfs, so I'm sure if sylv did this through friiloader it'd work, the problems start to show when you begin to try and play online.

But regardless, you're gonna be hindered in someway without an actual disc unfortunately.

I respect the work of those two brit brothers who are behind CTGP-R but I really really don't like their commitment to this bullshit antipiracy well long after Nintendo themselves stopped selling Mario Kart Wii and have no plans even to rerelease it - like what is the point of this antipiracy now?
