Just in case someone here hasnt heard, a very powerful emulation handheld goes on sale in a lil bit.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, plenty of RAM and a 4:3 AMOLED panel for 229usd to 274usd depending on model and color.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is the same SOC thats also in the Ayn Thor, so this is REALLY beefy. This does Switch emulation at 1080p.
Not bad at all for the price.
I think the Crystal one is particularly pretty. Currently sitting here waiting for Preorders to switch from "Sold Out" (which just means the sale hasnt begun yet) to "Available".

Anyone else excited for this one?

Id go so far as to say that this has every sign of being the best little handheld ever.
Compact and portable enough to slide easily into a pants-pocket, but powerful enough to emulate switch??
a beautiful AMOLED panel and enough Ram, despite the chip crisis?
... im ALREADY drooling. thats what i wanted for forever.

Yeah, i noticed, but this handheld priced very competitively, so im willing to forgive.

Oh yeah I have plenty of handhelds already. I only just picked up the Odin 2 Portal because I saw it going cheap. I do like having specific handhelds for specific things though, so a 4:3 OLED one with a focus on analogue would've been ideal for GameCube.

im buying it mostly for a mix of SNES and Switch.
Beautiful display to really make those cartoony Snes graphics pop and enough hidden power to also play a few fights in Persona 5 on Switch while waiting for the bus ; 3

From what I've read, it seems to depend on who you use for shipping, Yunexpress/4px or DHL. Have a look on reddit.

The Dragonwing is basically the same as the Snapdragon 8 Elite SOC, just without the 5G connectivity and the camera circuitry.

The Ayn Thor was advertised as running the Snapdragon 8 Elite but was actually built on the Dragonwing, and there was much ado. Turns out it's pretty much the same thing, but Snapdragon is intended for mobile phones, and Dragonwing was not, and Qualcomm wanted to keep the distinction.

i know, i just like correct info :P .

In fact, benchmarks show this DragonWing outperforming the 8 Gen2, so it looks like a better choice (?).

afaik its basically a version without the modem and the random phone-parts a handheld doesnt need. could be that makes it run a bit cooler?
Cooler = better performance maybe??
at least that would make sense to me
 
I would like to know how well it handles Switch but Nintendo went hard after everyone even mentioning Switch emulation so now all the reviewers that get pre-release review samples are too afraid to talk about Switch, let alone do performance tests.
