Hardware Are unpatched Switch consoles going down in price, or going up?

Wondering how the market is for these. I see them going for around $130-150 on ebay. Has the price for unpatched Switch consoles come down, and are they declining in value? I have not been following the prices on them.

I know with emulators and a lot of people are using something like a Steam Deck for those that are okay with offline only play. Wondering if that is devaluing the old unpatched Switch models. I've also been reading about mod chips, do these allow for online play on official servers? If so I can see the original unpatched Switch consoles devaluing.

After the release of the Switch2, prices have somewhat gone down but not dramatically.

Modchips work on all models, even the patched ones.
Playing online with pirated games on a switch with a modchip is only possible once, then Nintendo will reward you with a lifetime ban.
If you want to play online just buy the game and play them on your clean official firmware.

Thanks. What is the best site to verify if a console has an unpatched serial number or not? Wanting to get one more as mod chip soldering is something that is beyond my skill set.

Found one for sale and got the seller to show me the serial number. On these sites it shows it as unpatched:

I have an unpatched Erista unit I'm looking to sell, and both game stores near me will only give me about $70 because they're already stocked on Switch systems and they're not moving. I'm looking to get at least $150, as it's in great shape with no joycon drift or any scratches. It's hackable, but I kept it a virgin for online play.

Best way to verify is to get one that is 100% unpatched by checking serial number, don't get one that says possibly patched if you don't want to gamble.
